1999 Jeep Cherokee XJ: DID I JUST BUY A GEM or LEMON!?

Made a long, beautiful road trip to Montana to buy another Jeep Cherokee XJ. We do a complete walk through, drive around and even educate you on some history and Yellowstone. BUT... is this XJ a Gem or Lemon?

Those three holes on the rear quarter are for the bracket that holds the plastic oem caps on.

When I say super clean I pretty much refer to no dents or major issues and interior I pretty much mean no stains, breaks in equipment etc. for 1999, I think it’s very clean. But I do agree with you, we all have our various meanings of clean. I promise this... when I am done, she will meet most standards of clean. Cheers!

I'd say that thing is pretty Damn clean.. obviously not pristine, but Absolutely clean and an AWESOME base to start with Seeing as it already has probably the most expensive stuff you'd need for a very capable off-road daily driver! Great find Brother!

13:58 I like to try and figure stuff out online, this one was definitely difficult but I figured it out. That's the Humphrey Schoolhouse that was closed in the 50s. Also listed as a cattle auction house, not sure if that's accurate, but it definitely was the school. I-5 South exit 190, Humphrey, Clark County Idaho. Your video showing the 190 sign was a help.

I'm currently looking for a "Clean XJ with a 4.0L,Love my basically stock TJ,but it only has a 2.5L,and won't tow a 2000 lb trailer might be interested in a cash and trade deal as I'm a disabled guy without a disability check!

There is no rust under the carpet at all. Apparently it was rarely driven in the winter. Very little on the rear wuarters(I am going to sand it out and fix it).

It looks like the rear was hit in an upward manner. nice roof rack. nice tires and rims. nice headlights. i think your broke even just on obvious parts alone except for the drive, time and motel. Hush about patent dude. I lost more than two myself. Tow package safety rings rough shape. rear end or gas leak. ???Chrysler 8.25 rear end??? Check engine/part time light. Get the check for free from an Autozone or do you have your own? New radiator and no shroud means the air wont move through efficiently. Over heating may mean head issues. Check for exhaust gasses in the coolant. Possible rear hatch damage.
