How does that big block not starve for air? Looks like that dog house gives no fresh air?

You guys missed the point of what this boat is intended to do... It's hull is designed to flatten the wake... it is not designed to be a speed boat much beyond about 50mph. And it is intended to make the least wake possible for competition waterskiing ... that is why addding a 502 engine only got you 5 mph faster than a stock 350. So by placing a heavy 502 in it all you did was make it heavier and only slightly faster with a worse wake that takes way more gas.

Whoa whoa….take a breath. I didn’t make the boat. Malibu did. I think they made the boat for ski flying which was popular from 1998-2001. Longer tow rope, higher tow speed, shorter ramp and the jumper would go over 300’. That means the tow boat needed to accelerate harder and quicker than the little 350 could muster in order to catch the jumper as they passed the boat in the air. I tend to agree with you. The Malibu Response has a great minimalist wake and table which is great for barefooting. 5 mph is a huge deal when you don’t want to ring the neck of the 350 in order to go 45mph let alone faster than that. What if you want to tow two or more footers? 😂 350 be begging for mercy at 38 mph. Also when in the heck was the last time anyone saw an all black 502 Malibu?!?!? Who the heck wouldn’t want to hear it and see how fast it would go???? Too bad the little black Malibu didn’t pull a team in the Buckethead Barefoot race. kzbin.info/www/bejne/o5uXe5KJfpuBqq8

@@n3boatworks Okay. I take it back... I stand corrected.. I thought you guys droppped an aftermarket 502 in it. I have to admit i'm surpised to know Malibu ever came out with a factory 502. And yes the all black looks and sounds great.. but that blak would burn your buns in the sun. My 2006 Response lxi had the hammerhead 383 in it which was rated at 400Hp. and would hit 50 for footing. yet be lighter for a better wake. the bad side of the hammerhead was reliablitiy though. I guess they didn't consider that option in 97?
@n3boatworks2 жыл бұрын
@@toddcombs1701 I mean the 502 pulled it to 53 confirmed by gps. Also here is the only article I could find on it when researching the boat last year. www.boats.com/reviews/malibu-releases-pro-ski-flying-boat/
@toddcombs17012 жыл бұрын
@@n3boatworks Yeah.. I believe you! my 383 hit 50, So i can easily see 53MPh with a 502. Malibu claimed 60 in their ad. And i think i could believe that too under perfect conditions. That is very cool... I had no idea they ever built those.. and for ski jumping that wake is not going to matter much... Thanks for sharing it.. I really like the gelcoat of the red white and blue one....

Your motor seriously needs a new air filter. The one on there is collapsing in on itself because its so clogged with dirt! Let your motor breath!
@vbealer325 ай бұрын
😂😂😂 it’s collapsing because you have to run your breather from your valve cover to it so it has moisture. It has nothing to do with being clogged with dirt. It’s on the lake or a river. There’s no dust out there, bro.
