Yes! Thats great man. That same Ski Brendella was my folks first ski boat but we had a 1993. You can make a decent wave as I recall by putting a 50 gallon drum in the stern and filling it up. Learned a ton of inverts behind that boat.

Last year we bought a 86 ski nautique. We bought it because we have never owned a boat, but loved the idea of it. Wanted to get out on the water and learn before bucking out 200k on a boat. So glad we did! The nautique actually puts out a pretty nice wake! Going to use it this summer get some more hours under the belt and start looking for a wake boat next year. Just writing this to second what he said at the end. Just get going, get on the water! You don’t need massive debt or 100-200k cash to start having fun.

That’s awesome, I can’t seem to get frontside 180’s. I’m starting with that so I don’t have to switch hands with the rope yet and I can’t seem to get all the way around. I can do it on a skateboard but I keep going just a little bit over 90 degrees

I had a 91 Ski Brendella. I miss that boat, awesome slalom ski machine. Only negatives is that there is a lot of spray off the hull.

I would also say the best budget wakeboard boat is a late 80's Nautique 2001 with a 500lb sac on either side of the engine box and a 150lb in the bow. It will make a wake big enough to go as big as you need. Just don't let a novice driver behind the wheel. They sit pretty low in the water and are easy to swamp.

I’m decent at wakeboarding. But I don’t have my own board yet, I ski, and wakeboard using my neighbours boat, board and boots, getting my first own board tmrw. My boat is just a family boat from 87” and it’s 160 horse deep v haul, it has a big wake. What should I prepare for. Do I take off the skids on the bottom so I can board slide?

my boats got no pile on. only a tow eye at the transom.. will i still be able to jump a wake with that or will that pull me too much to the ground as im guessing the tow eye is even further down than the pile on. don't yet have a wakeboard so I cant test out for myself
