Does anyone remember the Mazda Navajo? There’s a possibility that, while some will, most will not. The Navajo was a vehicle made in partnership with Ford Motor Company and took the 2-Door Explorer Sport from 1991-1994, styled it a bit different, and rebadged to the Mazda Navajo. Then, came the B-Series Mazda Trucks. Mazda, once again, partnered with Ford Motor Company and, with, again, some minor exterior modifications, took a Ford Ranger, and made the Mazda B-Series pickup. This partnership solved 2 problems for Mazda; Taking the popular Ranger Platform and making a Mazda truck reduced their very expensive tooling for a new pickup for the company, thus, reducing development costs and still having a truck for their lineup, and secondly, they were not subject to the 25% “Chicken Tax”.
The B-Series pickup, as stated, sat on the Ford Ranger platform, and thus used the same Ranger engine and transmission configurations, and could be had in regular and Cab Plus configurations, as well as the 4-door Cab Plus4, with one bed size. Naming was unconventional, using the engine displacement for naming; B2500 used the 2.5L I4, B3000 used the Flex Fuel 3.0L V6 and B4000, used the 4.0L Cologne V6 engine. Automatic and manual transmissions were available across the board, and Ford’s Shift-on-the-Fly Electronic Transfer Case was optional as well.
Our Cab Plus B2500 is rear wheel drive and was built at the Twin Cities Assembly Plant in Minneapolis-St. Paul Minnesota in April of 1999. The final B-Series was produced by Twin Cities Assembly on December 11, 2009, ending 37 years of pickup truck sales by Mazda North America.

Neighborhood Car Reviews gives you an alternative look at the already impressive list of car videos that are online. What we do is a first-person walk-around of the car. We show features and details that are on the particular model being shown. Performance data, safety equipment and the like are usually not shown due to the already enormous amount of videos that cover the aforementioned topics.
We like to cover everything from classics to high-end and everything in between.

Thank you so much for the video. I'm a huge fan of Mazda and really loved their older vehicles. Recently I've been thinking of buying a Mazda b series. The only problem is getting parts for these type of cars is harder nowadays. Once again thank you so much for the video.

I really like the subtle Mazda styling differences, the later models also have a different instrument cluster & trim bezels that go around the instrument cluster & radio that have silver accents similar to how the Sport Trac did. My ‘99 Ranger is the same color & has the same engine as this one does too.
