Mpule has proven to be one of the most successful miss universe ever, as she has been doing tremendous work on HIV and women's right. In terms of contribution to the world, she might be the leading one among all past miss universe. And surprisingly, she is very beautiful even at the age of 40, coz throwback to the pageant by look she was not a standout at that time.

She and Michelle McLean. African Miss Universes tend to contribute a lot because as a continent, Africa is often under represented and their titleholders draw attention not only to their country, but the entire continent as a whole.

Botswana was really the darkest horse. She was unnoticed until the final question. I think before the final question, spain or philippines had it in the bag. But botswana's confidence in her answer sealed the deal.

No way ! Botswana had it from the very beginning! Spain and Philippines wasn’t polished enough for THAT title 👍👍👍
@PungiFungi Жыл бұрын
@@toddmerritt960 by the headshots at the MU site at the time, I knew Botswana had what it takes to take it, with the Philippines a close second. I think Miriam should've worn her hair down instead of their unflattering bun. Maybe with a more sexier look, she could still persuade the judges to vote for her despite not being too confident in her final question. I still think in the years where there was no real front runner, the final three got all the number one votes split between them and the contestant who emerged the winner was the one with enough #2 votes to get the lowest cumulative ranks.
@msrain123510 ай бұрын
@@jacob-ni6jraw why do you say that about Spain? I think that people liked her because of how she looked like in her swimsuit and the back of her evening gown. I thought that she was a good contestant and deserved her place, but I'll agree with you about Puerto Rico. I think that she should have had South Africa's spot. She should have wore her preliminary evening gown instead. The red gown was kind of plain. Her preliminary gown was beautiful as well as Venezuela's.
