No joke I thought he scripted himself spinning around in circles with that record before I realized what was going on lmao
@robertsyrett19926 жыл бұрын
Kind of makes me wonder what the difference between that set up and a CDJ is though.
@SteampunkBrony0106 жыл бұрын
@@robertsyrett1992, I'm pretty sure that the difference comes down to the "feel" of the record. This unit looks to be something you can add to any turntable, so you can use the turntable you've practiced on for years. It may not sound like a big deal, but a lot of people who switched to CDJs had to get used to them first. Plus, there is a big difference between using an 8.5 inch platter and a 12 inch platter, such as the difference in moving the 8 inch platter's edge an inch vs the 12 inch. Finer control is also easier on the 12 inch because of this. Also, while i'm not sure if CDJs typically have spinning platters these days, on an actual turntable you can make fine adjustments to the track syncing by lightly dragging your finger on the platter to slow down the track that's ahead slightly, allowing the other track to catch up. Yes there's usually a sync button now, but many DJs prefer to use this method as it allows them a bit more control over whats happening. Plus, syncing two tracks using the button can screw up sometimes and read the BPM and bar positioning wrong which leads to some strange sounds out of your speakers.

At a certain time in history there was probably some people telling the guy that invented the sustain pedal for the piano that it’s cheating. “If you want a long sustained note, keep your finger on the key bro”...... It’s like: The sampler = cheating........Tape and records in general = cheating (“it’s not the same as playing live bro”)............. My point: there are always people that are against new technology when it comes to music. But fortunitely there are also people that embrace and use it to innovate and create new technique’s and styles/genres/sounds.
@sirjag29225 жыл бұрын
Great point.
@spiral99able5 жыл бұрын
This is so true.. Its like the ebike thing.. People on normal mountain bikes think its cheating.. Are cars and motorbikes considered cheating? They probably were back when they came out.. I remember reading somewhere that Henry Ford had to take his prototype car out at night to drive it and perfect it because of the public ridicule he received.

The ones who don't want innovation in certain industries usually have ulterior motives almost always involving money some DJ equipment is purposefully made flawed to force you to cough up more cash to buy the more expensive stuff

Jeff I totally agree with you because I'm a turntablest too, but keep it real with them & tell them if they make it smaller/lower profile they will get more all around sales from Trick,Battle & Blend Dee Jays... Salute!!!👑✨👑 Phase: You are the cutting edge, so lets really push the envelope now...
@thirtyfiveedu88836 жыл бұрын
How much smaller does that thing need to get? It’s currently half the size of a ketchup packet, if that. Any smaller, you’ll need a microscope to transfer it from it’s carrying case to the turntable, and heaven help you if you sneeze...
@Qu35t10n3v3ryth1n96 жыл бұрын
lower profile? Did you miss the part when he was scratching with the vinyl off the deck in midair? come on now.
@illreel51696 жыл бұрын
@@Qu35t10n3v3ryth1n9 Absolutely not they have been doing that since 2017 the main issue I see is to being able to access the stem in the middle of the platter for serious blending & mixing... Real DJ's use the whole turntable as their musical instrument... I hate to say this , but that's wht The Rane 12's have extra long stems they actually get it!...Sorry to aware your paid advertising / marketing team's feelings, but it make a hell of a lot of sense. Great Product for beginners👑✨👑
@DJSkunkieButt6 жыл бұрын
I posted on their Facebook page a while ago, and I hope they listen to my suggestion. If they were able to put a rubber nub in the hole that could grip the spindle and extend it above the device so that for inexperienced DJ's that don't know how to beat match with nudging and slowing the platter down, they could use the spindle and stop complaining. If they did that, it would dominate the market completely.
@illreel51696 жыл бұрын
@@DJSkunkieButt if you wanna be honest the whole system is over sized because it's powering a LED lol They can really make it the size of a vinyl sticker & as flat as 2 quarters stacked... All I'll say if they don't someone else will who is way more funded like Rane...#Factz...👑✨👑

DJing (beatmatching, scratching, beat juggling) is a skill which certain people cannot learn with a computer, midi pads, DVS, or with a "controller." A controller is just that...controls what the "DJ" does. Without learning and experiencing the TRUE essence of a DJ, you're just playing music. Back to basics DJing is long gone with the new technology and as a DJ from the 80's, I have to embrace it!. But I REFUSE to lose the skills I learned through the authenticity of DJing

You Just Jeff, thank you for your gift man. My kids are mixed with Filipino and I really wanted to introduce them to our music, especially what I grew up on when it was brand new to show them not just what skills really are but to help them develop rhythm because of the fact that they actually have no rhythm right now and as a black parent with kids that are half black it's embarrassing to see them dance plus they aren't really into hip hop or rap and I figured the best way to introduce them is to bring it back to some of the best rap around, without any cursing just dope music and great story telling. Now every morning my kids all for me to play s nightmare on my street, and when I stay to beatbox you're crazy dope track, my oldest literally starts to rap Will's part. And she's starting to catch the beat more and more. I've heard most of your stuff throughout your career and I just wanted to thank you for always being classy. My kids can't listen to ice cube, or LL yet, but they can check out your stuff.
