Thank u for the video, I just did my sons 2000 Camry after I paused the video @ 12:30 into the video. I purchased the o2 sensor on Amazon last week and was dreading it thinking I was having to pull a seat out, but thanks to your video it was about a 20 minute job. One thing I recommend, tie a string to the plug when u pull the old one out and tie it to the new one and pull it through. I helped me I have big hands. I wish all the jobs I get myself into were this easy......... thanks again!

Mt 99 Camry upstream O2 sensor went bad in May. A new Bosch sensor didn't fix it. A Denso sensor did. I just got a P0136 (B1S2) CEL code today. I'm getting the Denso sensor and following your perfect instructions, starting with Live Data.

This was very helpful. I changed both sensors on my wife's 99 camry le. The disgusting smell of raw gasoline and the white smoke cloud at cold starts is gone. 525 + miles on a tank full, driving 60mph on highway roads. I also recommend adding seafoam additive and it improves the gas mileage. I've also added the seafoam into the engine to clean up all the gunk in there. Car is running smooth yeah baby.

I notice they don't make videos about removing the underneath sensors for a 2001 toyota solara v6 only corrolas, Camry's I'm trying to see if the cable sensor leads to the driver's seat to onplug it, I only see black and white wire underneath the seat not blue one like the video showed, any good ideas ???? First time doing this job, not bad, thanks for the vid! I will say that my replacement (Denso exact fit, surprisingly) came with a subpar grommet and did not have the little tab clip thingy to secure the hanging sensor wire. I just shortened the wire by pushing more of it through the grommet into the cabin. Hopefully it doesn't slip out over time and touch the exhaust

Great video. It really lets me see the job beforehand. Very helpful. I'm just about to replace my 99's exhaust with a Magnaflow cat pipe and 409 SS resonator pipe and muffler. The flange just before the 02 sensor has finally rotted away after 22 years and is open and loud. Your's is just about there too (well, back in 2017 it was) I'm also changing out the 02 sensor for a Denso which is OEM. Again, great video!

Toyota should have the disconnect/plug outside near the sensor. Could also make the disconnect smaller to slip a box wrench through for that task. We bought a box set of those special O2 removal sockets (3/8" drive ain't going to make it), pretty much useless with the amount of torque required . It will spread and slip and round the corners off. Box wrench won't spread and we ended up using it.

Do a air fuel ratio ,and o2 sensors have to throw a code to be replace ?or sometimes they just weak or clogged,im a DIY 😊

Hey! I know this is over 2 years old but... I'm getting a code P0420 (catalyst efficiency below threshold, and I'm not getting any reading from the upstream O2 sensor with my OBD2 scanner, but there's no O2 sensor fault code. Shouldn't there be an O2 sensor code if it's bad? Just looking for some help before I spend money on a catalytic converter. Same car (2001 Camry, 2.2L)

I would start with the upstream sensor. The operation of that one directly affects the efficiency of the cat. You should get a code, but you should also see rapidly switching voltages on the upstream sensor. If that reading is flat or null, that's a definite sign that the sensor is bad, regardless of the code.

@@Ken-1 Thanks man. I actually went ahead and replaced the cat because it didn't pass the temperature test. I reset the code and it hasn't come back after driving 200+ miles. I still only get a reading from one sensor, but there are no codes. The voltage goes from .050 to .455 randomly at highway speeds.

Do you know if the code will clear itself? Someone asked me that on my 99 Camry 02 sensor video. I didn't know b/c I always use my scanner to clear the code. Just wondering if you know for certain.

A bit confusing; you say that if the sensor is bad you get no resistance but when you test the new one you claim it's good BECAUSE it has no resistance. You realize that zero ohms is no resistance, right? Did you mean that the bad one does have resistance? or ???
