Great video! Removed old blower in 20 minutes. Used your link on Amazon and purchased for twenty dollars more then you mentioned (no big deal). Came in two days and installed in ten minutes. Fixed!!!

so I was looking for a way to get the cage off the motor & your video nailed it for me. My motor is working fine, however it doesn't spin as freely as it should. I was hoping for a way to grease it so it would spin more freely. I took my blower motor out & took compressed air, hooked to a piece of clear 1/2" inner diam tubing & threaded it into the hole going to the inside air vents. Then turned on the compressed air. I pushed and pulled the tubing in/out of this vent where the blower motor was. Wow, did I get a whole crapload of leaves & debris that was trapped in there---- out! Cheers Tracey

Glad I found the video. My fan makes an awful sound when turned to the highest speed. I think something is stuck in there. Now I know how to get it off and check. Also how to save myself lots of money if it needs to be replaced.

Did you find anything in there? My Camry makes a whistling sound at the higher speeds as though something fell down the defroster vent and is creating a blockage. Does it on AC or heat settings.

So I took it all apart and low and behold my kid had overfilled the glove box and an old flat style fridge advertising magnet had gone overboard into the fan. I dumped all the chewed remnants of the magnet and the noise mysteriously went away.

So my 98 camry is not blowing through the middle vents and floor would this fix it
@EddieCarrara12 жыл бұрын
Hi Uriel, no, you have a mode motor problem or one of your cables is disconnected on the HVAC box assembly. I recommend you look under the dash on both sides and look for any detached cables. If you have someone work the mode switch or lever you should be able to pinpoint the cause. Let me know if this helps.

I think I have a mouse nest in my '99 Solara & don't have big $$$ to take it to a mechanic. I pulled a black panel off behind the glove box but it's so hard to see under there. I'm wondering if I need to pull out the glove box or some of the dash (I'm really hoping not). I was hoping the video would have showed how you got to the area w/the blower motor or tips on how to access it.
@EddieCarrara18 ай бұрын
The blower motor is screwed in from the bottom, if you watch the video I remove the three screws from the bottom and pull the blower motor down after removing the electrical connection. Crawl under the dash on the passengers floor and look up.

I have a 2002 Camry with essentially the same blower motor. I just replaced it. I discovered the black particles came from the flat black padded insulation above the blower motor was getting so old it was crumbling into pieces and falling into the blower motor.
@EddieCarrara12 жыл бұрын
Hi Jim, are you sure it was getting into the motor or was it in the squirrel cage? The motor is pretty well enclosed and it would be difficult for the padding to infiltrate it.
@jimstelljes39252 жыл бұрын
@@EddieCarrara1 you have a point there. When I turned the motor/squirrel cage assembly up-side-down and shook it, black stuff came out. So, it could be just the black buildup from the motor.
@EddieCarrara12 жыл бұрын
@@jimstelljes3925 Yes, that's what I experienced as well. If the debris was from the foam insulation it would be in the squirrel cage 🍻

So when I turn on my a/c I don’t feel anything coming out the vents. By repairing or replacing this part, will it solve the issue? Thanks
@EddieCarrara13 жыл бұрын
HI SuperHuskii, if the blower motor is not spinning when you turn the fan on, and you have power and ground at the motor, most likely the motor is no good and needs to be replaced.

Amazing how easy that screw near the tangle of wiring comes out in this video. Unless you have the body of a 6 year old contortionist and the stubborn persistence of a woman in menopause you might need to remove the glove box to easily get at that screw. Take it from me-- take the glove box out--it isn't that hard, you will save a ton of time and you won't have to use any colorful language to address that screw.
@EddieCarrara12 жыл бұрын
Hi Bob, I'm not sure if taking the glove box will help, the screw by the wire harness was the easiest to take out lol, I'm 54 and I had no problems replacing the blower motor, maybe I'm not the average 54 yr old lol. Thanks for the tip, I hope it does make the job easier for the viewers. Cheers🍺

Thanks. The wires and plugs comeout right beyond the head of the screw.
