This video helped me a lot, thanks! For that smaller M14 axle bolt, the torque spec. is 85 ft. lbs plus the 180 degree turn after that. The spec you mentioned was for the larger axle bolt (M16).

What do you recommend replacing while I’m down there? I bought a used 1998 Passat and noticed it’s got a cracked and clicking cv so was thinking bearings and tie rods with sway bar links and just because I got the light on abs sensors and speed. And I’m sorry I don’t think I caught the size that you used on the 6 bolts on the inside?

10mm, 12-Point "bit" / Serrated/Triple Square. What to replace while doing the axle is a personal choice.

Wouldn't replace anything you aren't sure is faulty.
