What amazes me most is how they are pretty much flat out through the bends, barely lift for some corners, and only really slow down for hairpins. That takes a bit of skill and stones to match!

Amazing video you put there,Bozzy.Thank you for this.Enjoyed myself a lot with your touring car footage from 2018. Hillclimb masters and then you made prototype special from this great event.I'm always amazed with speed,grip and sound of these crazy hillclimb prototypes and the skill and bravery of their drivers.Screw Formula 1 and screw WRC with their regulations and all that jive.Hillclimbs and time attack are real,down-to-earth,straight up racing and have crazy and unregulated cars,which is why i love them.

Per me la più gustosa da sentire è la osella pa 20 col BMW 3.0..sarà che sono più di 20 anni che seguo questo tipo di gare e all epoca con Nesti, Danti, Tschager, Irlando, ecc i proto seri avevano questo motore. E risentirlo è puro godimento.

Yes, they are, because they are built specifically for Hillclimbs :) LMPs are fat diesel cars (940kg), with a stringent rulebook, that have to run for 24h. An Osella FA30 weight 450kg and have a 2.64m wheelbase so it remains agile, also generate a lot, believe me, a lot of downforces. At medium and medium-high speed those cars have more downforce than a Formula 1. More simple doesn't mean less. Those cars are just the fastest way to run up a mountain on the tarmac.

@@lw8249 LMP1 also make more downforce than F1 and are far more sophisticated and expensive. Produce faster acceleration despite the weight disadvantage and actually race. Way better clown.

Any reason why not use F1 engine on those things?I mean its really light engine. Those things are really not builded on normal roads,bouncing/jumping as hell...maybe better set up fix this?

Luckily the track is really forgiving for mistakes and nothing can happen to the drivers due to their super safe position in the car - seriously, how crazy do you have to be to do this… If they fly over the barriers into the woods, there is a high chance to die in my opinion.
