Hi, great video. I have a bimodal exhaust module from Ultimate Conversion Wiring. The switching wire is to be grounded to activate the bimodal module and open the valves. How do I wire a 22mm latching button so that the LED is off when the button is out, and lights up when the button is pressed? I need the button to ground the switching wire when pressed. Thanks heaps, awesome quality button!

I finished installing my billet button in my 2015 mustang for an active exhaust system and I am very happy with the fit an finish of the button! The only thing I would like to know in regards to the led light is if I can dim the light because it is too bright for my liking as it is right now. Other than that I am really happy with the button!
@MCFRYMotorsport5 жыл бұрын
Sure can, about 5-6v through the led dims them down to a nice brightness.

@@MCFRYMotorsport Thanks for the advice! I will check my car for a 5V source to tie into. Do you think if I tie into my dimmer switch will I get the brightness I'm looking for? That way it only comes on when the rest of my lighting automatically come on. I'm so glad the buttom matches exactly the color of the rest of my interior switches, light blue color!

@@El_5Zero that should work and if its still too bright just add a resistor.

David Figueroa what exhaust did you run this with and how did you wire this up? I’m wanting to use this with my GT16 that I am installing the GT350 Active Exhaust on.
@El_5Zero5 жыл бұрын
@@Brent_HannanOk, here it goes lol, I am running a stock 2018 active exhaust system, it bolted right into my 2015 GT. I am running the Roush valence for the quad tips and it lines up perfectly. As for the valve actuators, I am running vaccum operated exhaust cutout off of Amazon. I only used the vaccum plunger and welded a custom made bracket to the exhaust to make it work. To operate the valves I'm using a vaccum actuator found on my stock intake manifold. I'm running the GT350 manifold so I was able to use the actuator off my stock one, they are in the back close to the firewall. To make a clean install, I used a harness clip from my 1990 mustang spare harness. I know, it's crazy but the plug fit like a glove lol. Not sure what it was for but it worked. After that, run power to the switch then to the actuator and run your vaccum lines. You need about 15 feet of 1/8" vaccum hose. Hope that helps. I have pictures if you're interested.

Could you explain how the high low beam switch is wired? And how it works. Great products.
@MCFRYMotorsport9 ай бұрын
The best way would be using a 5 pin relay and having the high/low beam button trigger the relay switching from high to low. That is so the relay is taking all the load of the headlights.

What size relay would you use with these switches? I can only find 30a?

Is there a way to purchase etched backlit lights so the application can be read in the dark? I've noticed they're advertised as black backlit / blue online but unsure they are what I'm looking for..
@MCFRYMotorsport4 жыл бұрын
Black backlit is what you will be after the Blue is for the led colour and can be chosen on the website from 5 different colours. Our Instagram and facebook have plenty of examples of the black backlit buttons.

Could I use one button with 2 relays for door actuators. I don’t want two buttons. Just one. Push to lock - push to unlock
@MCFRYMotorsport2 жыл бұрын
If you buy a universal central locking kit with a module they usually have a wire that just needs a momentary button to lock and unlock.

In order for the switch to work. Did you use a relay?
@MCFRYMotorsport2 жыл бұрын
You only need a relay if your switching something high amperage like thermo fans and fuel pumps etc. Otherwise you do not use one.

@MCFRYMotorsport3 ай бұрын
@RedDragon2570 yes they can draw up around 25amps depending whats plugged into them

@@MCFRYMotorsportI'm plugging in led light strips that plug into the 12V cig plug, but it has a 3amp stick fuse in it. So it shouldn't draw more than that, correct? Or should I just use the relay and have it ready for whatever
@MCFRYMotorsport3 ай бұрын
@RedDragon2570 it will be fine for the led strip but if you plug something in that is high draw it will burn the switch out.

Does anyone know how to wire the 8-pin, 3 position, rotary style selector switch version of these buttons so that the LED only turns on when the switch is in either of the ON positions?
@MCFRYMotorsport4 жыл бұрын
They are very similar to the 19mm diagrams, white wires are common and middle greens are normally opens for the left and right turn functions.

@@MCFRYMotorsport So, do you wire the positive LED pin to both normally open pins? If so, wouldn't that also put 12v on both normally open pins regardless of which position the switch is in?

@@onebrent1 you would need to wire the led direct to a ign + so it is on when key is on

Are you aware that the most overused word "BASICALLY" you used a total of 43 times in this video .. its a redundant use of the word.. there are other words like Generally or Essentially.

30a is fine, those relays take 30amps of load and only require .1A* to activate with the button 👌
