Early-era Stones tunes don't get enough love! Great stuff and fun to play. Thanks for the lesson!

Deceptively simple rhythm guitar parts are very intricate. Takes my playing to a new level!

I like when you just play the parts in the beginning without talking over it. Better for experienced guitarists just looking to pick up the song. We can learn it by watching.

Always loved that song along with Mother's Little Helper contradicting the accusation of following or aping the Beatles. Truly shows moments of originality. Brian 's rhythm riff dials in early Bo Diddly

The entire “Stones aping the Beatles” is so exaggerated. It mostly comes from Beatles fans who can connect anything the Stones due to the Beatles.

Check out Bo Diddley's "Diddley Daddy." That may have been what inspired him to write the song. It's got that same bass line.

Brian playing the Bo Diddley “Diddley Diddley Daddy” on the Firebird. Part of the great Stones of 1965 string of hits…Last Time; Satisfaction; Get Off My Cloud…”

Another excellent video, Doug! I have learned an awful lot from your vids, but I can't believe that you got the little fuzz lead lick wrong on this one. After "You better stop, and look around...", you play A, B, E, D. It is actually B, C#, E, D. Thanks again!

I first saw the Stones play the very song on Ed Sullivan in 1966. I was 16 at the time and hoping to learn guitar. Thanks for the clarifications. Finally, I acquired a guitar later. Keith's guitar, I believed wrongly, was a Vox. I didn't know he (or Brian) used a Guild at anytime. When I first saved enough money to acquire an electric in 1971, I couldn't find a Firebird in my neck of the woods. I had to settle on an SG.

And don't forget Bill Wyman's deceending bass riff at the end of the record. when played against the Brian Jones riff it gives to my mind a real Bo Diddley feel.

Great Tutorial for me, anyway. Never could discern the Keith/Jones parts very well, but this video does it in spades!! TY!!!

Yeah as an earlier comment says Brian plays Diddly Daddy by Bo Diddly the whole time…I think he was kind of almost trying to sabotage the early Jagger-Richards songs or at least kind of showing them up by playing old riffs BUT IT WOrks GREAT as the second guitar. The two guitars riffing off one another is just cool. Thanks great job.

The Black and silver face Fender amps had the optical tremolo which moved the volume up & down. The early 60's "Brownface" or brown Rolex Fender amps had harmonic tremolo which moved the treble and bass giving it almost like a chorus effect. Hard to explain, but yes, different.

Brians part is a straight rip from a BoDidley song (Didley Daddy I think). While Keiths distored bit on the stop is a direct Chuck Berry figure from the second verse of Around and Around....but hey why not✌️
