I have a 2002 Nissan Maxima that needs a lot of work, your videos are very informative and have been super helpful in learning about my Maxima and attempting to fix the problems . Thanks keep them coming!

Thnks i will.

@Joel Cruz You may want to check the suspension components for wear. You may also need an alignment.

It is amazing that 1A Auto uses a crescent wrench instead of the appropriate metric size wrench.

Unfortunately that is not something we can do a video on. We'd recommend taking that to a ford dealer. Please let us know what you find though.

Is this the same for an 04?

I've been looking through video after video, and I can't find one that gives a good way to get the nut unscrewed on the end (where the boot is). When I twist, the whole thing turns. Practically no one else seems to have this problem (I have a chevy impala). They just seem to come right off! Any way to do this without having to buy a clamp or vice grip of some sort?
@1AAuto9 жыл бұрын
You would need to put tension on that tie rod end somehow so that the shaft doesn't spin. Possibly try a pickle fork between the knuckle and the tie rod end to help put a little tension on it. Hope this helps you out.

Do you have, or will you have any videos of 2005 Ford Taurus sudden acceleration problem with it being possibly the fault of cruise control cable being disconnected at the throttle cam?

My tires wear on the inside the front ones...95 maxima...does it have to do with tie rod...or struts being worn

What's the point of measuring? Also, could you do a video of a front wheel bearing replacement on an 04-08 maxima? thanks!
@1AAuto10 жыл бұрын
You want to measure the distance (as shown in the video) to the center of the tie rod, so that when you screw the new tie rod on, the vehicle will be somewhat aligned. When you put the new tie rod on the measurements should be the same as when you took the old tie rod end off. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

so pretty much if you have to replace the tie rods, all you have to do is replace the outer rod and not the inner?
@1AAuto10 жыл бұрын
Technically you only have to do what is bad. If it is just the outer tie rod that is failing then you can do just the outer with a alignment. However it wouldnt hurt doing the inner with it. It would save you from needing to go in there a second time and having a second alignment done.Thank you for watching. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

Is the torque spec for the castle nut the same for a 2008 Nissan Quest?
@1AAuto6 жыл бұрын
+Smooth Operator The torque specs will most likely be different on a Nissan Quest than a Maxima. 1aauto.com

My 2007 Nissan Maxima does not have a lock nut , the original out tie rod has the lock nut on it. Of course, that makes this impossible to remove! Any advice would be helpful!
@1AAuto7 жыл бұрын
+Jay Pete You may have to put a pipe wrench on the inner tie rod to keep it from twisting, while you back the outer tie rod off. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com

So technically the 2002 nissan altima 3.5se and maxima 2004 uses the same outta tie rod.
@1AAuto8 жыл бұрын
+Steel We checked on this for you and yes, it looks like that outer tie rod would fit both vehicles. Here's a link to them for the 2004 Maxima if you would like to see what we have to offer on our website. www.1aauto.com/tie-rod/i/1asfk00232?f=524087&y=2004&KZbin&CTA%20Comment&ATony
