I just want to say . My husband and I totally appreciate this video. I can't believe it but we did it. Not easy when your older but together we fixed and replaced the windshield washer pump. Thank You John from 1A Auto Parts. You were so helpful. Al and Martha Corpe from Calif.

Great video, thanks for posting! My 2001 Yukon windshield washers were not functioning properly. The pumps were making noise, but the water was just dripping out of nozzles, not spraying. I removed the reservoir tank per the video and found that the tank ports and pumps were clogged with gunk. I cleaned them up and blew the lines clear with an air compressor. Everything is now working great! It took me about 2 hours.

For the body panels near the wheel, you can buy a special body tool that is made for pulling those plastic clips. I find it makes it a little easier.

I love your how-to videos and they have helped me through many repairs on my vehicles. I've even purchased parts from y'all. I have actually done this repair more than once. One suggestion, a small flat-blade screwdriver and a trim tool is the easiest way to remove the plastic rivets.

I love their videos but you can access the pump and all connectors from below and skip the battery, tray, and mud guard removal. Not sure why they show the most difficult way to do this repair. Obviously disconnect the battery as you will be dealing with electrical connectors below. You can install a new line also and feed it from the top below and reconnect it. It took about 30-45 minutes on my 2000 Chevy Silverado.

Alm that work for 1 lil pump on the bottom side of your reservoir? Why not go from underneath the truck

The orientation of the spigot is different. Doesn't that create an issue with the preformed hoses?
@planetdisclosure-filesdocs70189 ай бұрын
If its just the pump u can go from below.

looks like turning wheels to the right would help with a little more room, will be attempting to inspect and or replace my pump maybe later today pump doesnt make any noise, I bought a new one hopefully fixes the issue and its not a wiring issue
@moss28447 жыл бұрын
I have same problem, brought new pump, installed it still not work, must be wiring or switch. Hard to test it with battery out of truck. Out that work for nothing. Fuse is good.rear pump runs. When I had it apart I could have just switched the discharged line to run to front windshield. lol
@keenedge10994 жыл бұрын
If it's not making any noise, check the fuse.

On my 1999 gmc sierra 1500 my windshield washer pump runs but there is no washer fluid being pumped to the windshield. could that be the pump thats busted?
@jeremyloyd795 жыл бұрын
Is this the same on 99 silerrado?

Are the front and rear the same pump?
@Kraziken06 жыл бұрын
I don't believe they are the same pump.
@manuelvillalpando66655 жыл бұрын
I just bought a front and back reservoir pumps. I thought that they were the same, but they are not. The difference is in the prongs. The connectors are different. One uses straight pins and the other has flat pins. Both are 12 v though.

@@MakingCODHistory1 yes for optioned vehicles with rear wiper arm w/ washer fluid. I've had both go bad. Best to replace both if you are in there doing the work.

Thank you very much for this excellent video. You have helped thousands of people, including myself, save a ton of errors, work, and money. I want to know who the idiot "engineer" was who designed in SEVEN bolts to hold the battery plate. Is that overkill, or what?!!!
@kyleorr5332 жыл бұрын
Pulled the battery out and realized my battery tray had nearly completely disintegrated. Can’t even remove the bolts as they are completely corroded and fused together. The bracket on the fender and opposite end are about to give way and practically paper thin. This 30 min project has turned in to a hunt for these other parts. What a headache.

Those are NOT 10mm bolts! They are 6mm bolts, with 10mm socket heads.
@condor56352 жыл бұрын
What are you talking about? The bolt requires a 10mm socket to remove it. What does 6mm have to do with anything?
