I think she forgot to install the hose before installed the caliper. I was wondering how she was going to do it afterwards, but they cut that part out. If you try to install the hose afterwards, it will be twisted. Also, I disagree with not putting grease on the calipers or on the parts of the pads that rslide on the calipers, especially if you live in an area where cars rust.

Hello! How long do we need to let the fluid drip from the bleeder screw? When done bleeding,, would I go ahead and bleed the opposite caliper or pump the brake pedal in between? Thanks for any advice!

Thanks for your very clear and informative instructions. The old brake pads you changed are only half worn. Can they be changed when 3/4 worn instead? I'd appreciate your advice. Thanks.

I got 2 quotes from mechanics at $160 to replace front pads and $160 to replace rear pads. I ended up replacing mine myself. 2010 Mazda 3i. Took 30 min cost $40 for new pads. I made sure not to break the bleeder screw. Easy Peazy.

@SerenoOunce2 жыл бұрын
@@belowaverage7539 That is expensive but OEM pads and rotors are the best quality and will last the longest. For a complete overhaul that's actually not a terrible price.

Hi, the 17mm caliper bracket bolts - please can you advise the size? I think they're something like 17mm hex head M12/30 mm thread length. Can you confirm? Thanks!

I appreciate your clearly explained and filmed video :) May I ask if the 2006 Mazda Verisa (JDM) also has caliper pins with the 7 mm hex socket? I would need to buy the hex key set if this is the case. I'm asking because some Mazdas have typical caliper bolts. Thanks :)

Do you absolutely HAVE to bleed the fluid from the bleeder screw when pressing the brake piston back in?
@1AAuto4 жыл бұрын
+Ballzarath Scrotius Thank you for the question. You do not HAVE to, it is just recommended to ensure that everything is done properly. It can be done without doing so, but the manufacturer suggests bleeding the fluid.

I noticed you didn't put any "no squeek" type of paste on the pads. When I bought my pads they recommended it so I bought it. Not sure how to apply it or if I even should with these brakes. Any advice?
@SerenoOunce2 жыл бұрын
You absolutely *MUST* use the caliper grease in the bracket ear grooves. Dirt and grease can be pushed away. Rust build-up cannot. And silicone paste isn't used for water resistance, any grease has that property. Silicone is used on slide pins cause it's the only type that won't swell rubber.

These calipers are used by Mazda, Ford and others. I did a 2012 Mazda 3I and afterwords the parking brake didn't work. I am at a lost as to why? I read on the web of others with the same problem. I need to know what happen before I order new calipers, any ideas?
@SerenoOunce2 жыл бұрын
If you watched her other video for the rear she installed the pads backwards. There's a difference between the inner and outer. The inner pads have pins that lock into the piston to keep it from rotating which is part of their self-adjustment.

+Richard Smith Thanks for the feedback!
@SerenoOunce2 жыл бұрын
Those rotors are only beneficial for racing or if you happen to drive regularly on steep grades. For normal driving it's a gimmick and just for aesthetics. The holes and slots are for venting gas between the pad and rotor but that only occurs at extreme temperatures. Redundant for the daily driver.
