There's guys in clubs all over the world that play this guy under the table. They do it by actually playing musical, meaningful phrases, and not just crazy over bends and ultra wide vibrato, which obviously impresses the shit out of your average person that doesn't play the guitar, but those of us who play blues, know Phil's game. He's all icing and no cake.

I used to watch this guy at Grossman's Tavern in Toronto every Tuesday night back in 2001. A virtuoso blues player, for sure. I remember Jeff Healey coming in to see him one night. Sayce was playing mostly Hendrix tunes back then, and sounding very much like SRV. He's getting even more interesting sounds out of his guitar these days, and he's developed some seriously high-speed licks too.

Looks like it’s the earliest Silverface Bandmaster Reverb Amp model TFL5005D with drip edge made from 1968-1969, these amps give 40 Watts output power...

I am a big fan of this guy i dont understand the music business this guy should be headlining big venues . He is one of the most ferocious blues players I have heard in a long time . I play guitar too man and I am telling ya this cat is a force of nature unbelievable talent. Real deal for sure . He's gotta be playing with some heavy strings on that strat he digs in hard and just punishes that stratocaster man his bends and vibrato are crazy good . Intense player man he puts his all in it and you can hear it. Thank God we got players like this keeping this genre of music alive .Blues power man !

He's incredible, but he's stuck on SRV, as are many. Fantastic guitarists leave a legacy like that, and it's great, but ultimately if all you are is cloning someone else, that void is pretty much infinitely filled by the person you're copying. You have to take it another direction, like John Mayer has. He's very much learned to become his own player, and is furthermore a very advanced songwriter (Not doing just straight blues, which is great, but won't earn you a crowd outside of people who are into blues).

Love this video, in your face, small intimate bar gig. Killer guitar playing, digging that raw Strat sound he has. I'm a guitar player and never have been able to make a Strat sound good to me; i'm immediately jealous of anybody who can get make one sound so good! Well done Phillip!
