I stoped watching when they nailed her hand lol but i thought it was good untill then. A horror movie with cults... i dunno be honest. Um i think i saw a horrow with apartments but i cant rember! Have a lovly night/day

This is like 'The Invitation', ending is almost the same for both. I like these cult movies.I can't get enough of it.

If you like this movie you must watch “The Invitation”. The “cult” is more subtle on screen you could say but there are so many similarities to 1BR and I thought it was actually much more tense throughout and is overall the better movie. Side note, you sound exactly like Johnny Knoxville. Awesome!

I love The Invitation! Such a good slow burn that builds and builds. Good catch, because 1BR is definitely similar to The Invitation, and i agree i think The Invitation is a better movie. The ending was more effective as well. And, thanks! I hope that's a good thing 😆. That's honestly a first, I never heard that i sound like Knoxville, but after listening to him talk i can see where you're hearing it! Another good catch!

Different Take of course it’s a good thing, Knoxville is a badass. It sounds like you have good taste in movies so I feel obligated to share two of the coolest mind trippy movies that I have seen. One is called “Coherence” and the other is “Triangle”. Let me know what you think about them if/ when you check them out.

One more I have to mention. The South Korean movie “The Wailing” is by far one of the best horror/ thriller movie that I’ve seen in years and I usually try to avoid subtitles. Seriously a must watch. Enjoy!

Thank you! I wanted to have something that had some energy and got people excited for the a new video, etc. I also tried to use iconic scenes of some my favorite movies/ characters. I hoped people would like it as much as i did 😆

Really good video, this is something you usually see from a channel with a few dozen thousand subs. The intro is a little much, but the only thing I think you could possibly work on (I can't think of much) is tightening up your deliveries a bit. What feels like a split second is often longer than you think in a recording. You've got the timing sometimes but it's a little inconsistent. Regardless, I'm excited to see that channel grow!

the intro just depends. sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. some people like it and it's good to have when the channel first starts and gets people excited for a new video. but i agree that it's probably better for a quick logo, and i'll use that from time to time depending on the video. i'll eventually go to that. as far as the timing goes, i'm definitely inconsistent 😂 i have points i want to make, but when i'm scripted there's no personality. if i go unscripted, it's not focused and i'll ramble and it's harder to edit. i just gotta find that balance. Favorite cult movies: Rosemary’s Baby, The Wicker Man (1973 version, not Nick Cage), Martyrs (pretty heavy stuff) and The Sacrament (very low budget, mocumentary but scary take on Jonestown)

Different Take I really enjoyed it. The movie stayed with me, long after I watched it. It made me both angry and sympathetic to the lead character, Sarah, and the ending was shocking. I wasn’t expecting it to end like that and now, I want a sequel.

Same! It's not scary like "OMG I CAN'T LOOK!" scary, it's like a "ohhh...geez, i don't like that at all. That's scary to think about" kinda scary. Yeah that's a good point about Sarah, it just goes to show how much of an impact parents can have on their kids which can lead into adulthood. I was expecting someone to jump out at the end lol what were you expecting? Oh yes, a sequel would be veryyyy interesting

Hey! Sorry, I'm here! My external hard drive crapped out on me 😱 and i only have a portion of it backed up so things are a little crazy and a little delayed- plus I'm prepping for October/Halloween. I wanted to make a post about it so everyone knew what was going on but KZbin doesn't allow a channel to post until it's monetized 🤷‍♂️

@@DifferentTake We cheated and watched this early just so I could watch your review. I think you hit every issue I had with these morons, and bag of dicks is now my new perm name for Bryan. We did kind of part ways on Edie's death because I know that if I ever reach the point where she was, I would love to have a send-off and have someone help me end it like that. And the slapping scene was just odd, it would have had more impact if I had known what he did wrong... instead of group slap train - then nom nom diner together. It was really creepy watching Lisa being taken through the beginning part and seeing it from the other side. Meanwhile, I am so sorry about your hard drive - that's NEVER fun. Can't wait to hear about your Halloween plans - I am SO stoked for Halloween right now - my fav holiday has always been whatever's coming next. LOL As to your question - my fav cult movie I don't think qualifies as a horror movie (Helter Skelter) so I'll put forth an of honorable mention. Wicker Man (I wanted the cult to win) - Oh and I mean the new one not the 1970s one. I know most folks hate it but what can I say? Maybe a combination of hating nick cage in this and wanting to see him suffer, along with a solid hard-on for Summersisle and Moss just made it a winner for me.

I hope so! One of the producers commented on this video and said they want to make a sequel, so I think so! I think it's just up to demand and if they feel enough people want a sequel.

Thanks! I usually give my opinion in my "Review Videos". "Explained Videos" are where i dive into the themes and what the film is trying to say. This film was about different forms of control, so i wanted to dive into the examples and different symbolism supporting the theme. I may cut back on retelling the story and just include the examples, but then sometimes things can get taken out of context. Thanks for your feedback!

@@DifferentTake Well I'm the producer of the film and I feel you did a good job overall. Clearly I didn't know the difference between your videos so that makes sense once you explained it. The one thing that I notice with a lot of these videos is that they just tell the entire story as if that's supposed to be analysis etc. Good Job.

I know exactly what you're describing with just retelling the story 😬 I'm not a fan of that unless it's a breakdown. I was going to do a review for this film and talk about the technical aspects, but when a movie is well written (like this movie was) and have a deeper theme and layered subtexts that some casual viewers may not recognize initially, i like to try to break it down and show (at least from my perspective) what the film is trying to say, and maybe emphasize certain points - while throwing some entertainment in there to keep people engaged. If you're interested, i can probably put together a review, or i could just give you my opinion here because i took some notes on it, there were justttt a few missed opportunities with some scenes that i thought could've built tension with a nice little scare, but other than that i really enjoyed it and I thought it was smart and well written.
