Loving the series. To any who are looking, I paired up a wilderness systems lithium battery to a Garmin Striker 4cv vivid. The Wilderness systems lithium battery has issues with Sonars that draw over 1amp or require more than 12v. I have had no issues with the battery and the Garmin. Additionally, I was able to pick up the 15ah lithium battery for 60 dollars on clearance due to the discontinuation of it.

Hello, As I was watching to see what ram light duty mount you used, I clicked on the link you posted for it and it brought me to the item but it didnt have the same attachment on as the one you have. The attachment you have on it in the video, I saw that that comes with the garmin kit itself. Did you just swap out the attachments for both the top and bottom?
@1Cast1Fish7 ай бұрын
I used the top to mount to the fishfinder base, I removed the bottom so I can attach it to a 1" ball mount on the kayak rail.

How many hours will this battery last before charge
@1Cast1Fish4 жыл бұрын
I have the 10 Ah and I have gone 2 Days charging phones, fish finder, and a camera without any issues. (granted this was not 24 hour per day use) I also did a video with the just the fish finder and it lasted non stop for over 30 hours of continuous run time.

Depends on your needs...I really love the Vivid now because of the quick draw maps. If you fish lakes or ponds the maps feature is great.

I think your link for Mount is not correct. That is for Echo, not for Striker. Am I wrong?

It will work for both...you can verify on the Ram website look up #RAM-B-101-G4 Not sure why a few have had issues with fit while others do not. This is the model # I have and it worked great.

Garmin Striker Plus 4 is my first fish finder with contour maps and i have one specific problem. When i turn my boat there is 2-3 second delay for all movement my boat does on my striker screen. This is extremely annoying to drive around lake, because im used to drive around Garming hand-held navigator which updates my boat movements on the navigator screen extremely fast. With navigator i was able to drive lines with extreme accuracy and also make fast turns without getting confused which way im going, even drive lake just by looking my navigator (just memorize where they keep fishing nets). Is there any Striker settings that could solve my problem??? Or is there some setting that is causing the problem???
@1Cast1Fish4 жыл бұрын
My GPS is fairly accurate on timing, but I am in a kayak….how fast are you going by chance?
@LeoFINuTube4 жыл бұрын
@@1Cast1Fish 1,85 - 2,5 mph
@1Cast1Fish4 жыл бұрын
Should keep up pretty well at those speeds...does it have good GPS signal? You can also try a factory reset to rest the unit.
@LeoFINuTube4 жыл бұрын
@@1Cast1Fish I found youtube video where guy was driving with striker 4 and u can clearly see that when he makes the turn and boat is alrdy going straight in reality, in striker screen boat is still turning. So there is default 2sec (at least) delay on screen and there propably isnt any solution to this :( also 100% brightness on sunny day isnt just enough. I would say this fish finder is good for kayaking, its avarage for electric motors (cus they cant go very fast anyways, as myself). But boats with real engines i wouldnt recommend, u rlly want fish finder with no delay. Just my honest opinion.
@1Cast1Fish4 жыл бұрын
You are right about wanting a very accurate GPS track when traveling at speed...especially if its dark. I use Humminbirds on my big boat, but think I will drag this along just to see if the GPS lags at all going 50+ mph. Cool you brought this up, because I honestly don't have any experience with it since I use mine on the kayaks.

Great videos, thank you. Question...In hull mount with the Striker 4, water temp is a feature I use a lot. Would you suggest I use exterior in water mount instead of in hull mount for accurate temp readings?
@1Cast1Fish3 жыл бұрын
With the in hull mount the water temp reading will not be accurate. To have accurate water temp readings, you must mount the transducer so that it is in the water
@smallieman17562 жыл бұрын
@@1Cast1Fish I can tell you that properly mounted, your water temp will work but might take 30 minutes or so for your hull to match the water temp. Worse case is you’d be a degree or so off. I’ve tested this through my Pelican kayak hull and compared it with an in water and they are very, very close.

Do you use the Garmin striker plus or just the regular Garmin striker 4
@1Cast1Fish4 жыл бұрын
I bought the regular, but wish I would have bought at least the plus. The mapping feature is a great addition if you fish any lakes or rivers. I mostly only fished small creeks and rivers that did not have a lot of depth or depth change, so I went with the regular...now I fish a few small lakes as well and wish I had a Plus.
