somebody may have said this earlier.. but... if you take the bolts off the steering column and drop the wheel. it makes taking the dash out 100000000x easier

Still haven't replaced the heater core since my last comment 2 years ago. Instead, I did the bypass and gave the interior a good cleaning where the coolant had leaked out which caused film to form on the glass due to evaporation. May attempt the core replacement when the weather is warmer but will watch this video several times and take notes prior to doing this job. Many thanks for posting this helpful tutorial! 🙂

I don't have to replace my heater core (yet), but I still enjoyed this video -- a lot. If you ever get around to fixing your A/C, I hope you find the time to post a video explaining how you did it. I hope to tackle that question next spring when the weather warms up.

If you were only trying to remove the blower motor assembly, can you do that without taking apart the entire dash?
@Mister_Pines
@Mister_Pines Жыл бұрын
If you're wanting to remove only the blower motor and attached plate, then YES. There are several fasteners around the edge of that plate.

Very informative but that looks like a unbelievable amount of disassembly and reassembly, going to have to psych myself out to see if I want to attempt this. I'm thinking of using Barr's Radiator and Heater Core seal or just bypass the heater core entirely for the time being. Any thoughts on either of these two options?

btw you didn't have to remove the blower motor to remove the evap core. the evap is made to slide back in place once the heater core and blower motor are already mounted.

CannibalCorpse1337 They work very poorly :P They're called automatic seatbelts, they were popular in the late 80's and early 90's cars in the USA.

So is this what I would have to do to replace the evap coil on the AC? My AC has a bad leak and I don't think it is the compressor or the condenser so that leaves the inside coil. Good video but I am not sure I want to go to this much trouble.
@VelocityLabs
@VelocityLabs 5 жыл бұрын
Yep, that's how you would replace the evap coil as well. It's not that bad once you do it.
