I'm hated at work by alot of drivers. It's not coz I'm bad at my job but coz I do everything right and I expect everyone else to do the same, I have to account for every minute of the time at work and log it so if they haven't done there job properly it gets reported. Nothing worse than having to do my job but put there crap right to. I like the videos mate and respect your honesty

rubber car matts are great to protect crossing chains etc also straps. In USA you have chains crossing without they fry your arse end!. high loads with straps put a twist in that stops them singing and chaffing. Always have some ropes in the box apart from moving things as dolly and double dolly even triple knots you can pull or move things when no one to help you.

I dont see why you should have the treatment you got, just because of what was really a technicality. Decent Toilets and washing facilities, proper access to buying Food etc etc. These are by basic requirements. The attitude of Authority towards Drivers is beyond me. Everything would collapse without the infrastructure of moving goods by road. I am ex Forces and can honestly say that the little Hitlers that do these jobs would not have lasted five minutes. Safety on the Roads is vital and you do need these People but there are ways of doing the job. Respect on both sides is needed. Love your vids by the way.🚛🚛👍👍

Technically yes, agriculture doesn't need a movement order unless over 3m, but they can get yearly dispensations that allows them upto 4.3m without having to put movement orders in

Hi Shaun, if that's a movement order, when the farmer couples up and takes the muck spreader field to field on the highway, is he going to need a movement order to move it every time? I would say something not right if that's not the case, which obviously it's not. Yet another wonderful Grey area. Good luck pal 👍

No farmers have a special rule for that

Yes the farmer would need a movement order, farmers are allowed upto 3m before needing one, but they can get a yearly dispensations for upto 4.3m

Get yourself registered on Esdal and do your own notifications. It's a piece of piss and it doesn't cost you anything. I notify everything over 9'6" to stay legal and all it costs me is a bit of time.

Great content, so you were pulled for as it ends up over width by a midges arse. Now ok I get that and I'm on your side and I'm on the side of the farmer that's going to buy and use the machine on public roads. So what happens when the farmer uses such implement on the roads going to have to do.

Would reversing one or both of the wheels on the K2 have narrowed them up enough so as to get it 2 cm less wide, therefore not needing movement license? Or even taking the wheels off?

It was 20cm over, I know of 1 firm had a similar muck spreader on that was 2cm over, they told them to get a fitter out and remove 1 wheel and they could carry on, but with a £100 fine

@@stevieboy308 Sorry, typo - should have read 20 cm (approx 8”). Still think that turning the wheels round (reversing them so that centre offset works in your favour) may have got you under that 20 cm over-width. Or removing them completely. I’ve seen it done on Combines, by removing, or even fitting slave wheels to get them narrow enough not to need a special license and/or an Escort. It does make you wonder why the eventual user of that K2 won’t also need a license when towing it down the road behind a tractor!

It's worth remembering that DVSA or VOSA or whatever they call themselves this week absolutely hate trucks and drivers and will do anything they can to cause you aggravation, Never mind that if there's no trucks they won't have a job, it's all about power. Remember there's nothing more likely to go to someone's head than a Hi-Vis and a clipboard!

Hi, I'm not having ago!!! But I don't see how you're legal on length, the limit is 16.5m from the front of the unit to the back of the trailer unless carrying a load of exceptional length. They are cracking down on hiab tractor units as they can't pull a standard length trailer legally. I go on the theory of believe no one, I need to read it myself, in the official guidance or legislation. I've seen coppers, DVSA, even a traffic commissioner getting stuff wrong, so it's irrelevant what they say unless they can show me where it says it in an official document.

I do the same work, but mines not an extender. I've read and read the regs, I can't see anything that allows you to extend unless carrying a load of exceptional length. Maybe I'm missing something, but I think the copper is wrong. And to say he would prefer more stretch so less overhang, the gov website basically says the opposite!

I got pulled liads of times. If you've done your law and the loads been accepted by the operator license holder then any problems can be directed straight to the company. I remember a time when over a dozen police surrounded my truck. They allmshared a tachograph trying to find a fault. I used to stamp all my tachos with a stamp whichbread, 'Contains brake saving and movements allowable for the safety and security of the vehicle and it's load. This was a LEGAL get out clause for any over speed or driving limits. The good ole days.
