I guarantee that Hiro never learned the full art of Wing Chun. Since Bruce Lee, and the other JKD practitioners... have never fully learned Wing Chun... they can only make Incorrect Assumptions about the differences. That would be Useless. If you want to make a proper comparison.. you need someone whom learned each of the full artforms, and whom can perform them properly, in heavy contact sparring. They also need to be able to prove that they can defeat a much larger and stronger opponent, using Soft Methods.
@@WeCanFunk1983 A lot of people learn some Wing Chun. How much they learned, is Questionable. Its also about how much successful fighting Experience (against skilled fighters)... And your level of Mastery. When I first started learning Wing Chun... I initially was doing many things incorrectly. I wouldnt know this, until much later, when I started to spar against much larger and stronger fighters. They easily crushed me... due to my incorrect uses of Wing Chun... (and my often "Flawed" Wing Chun techniques. Meaning: Poor Quality / Not Mastered). It took many years, before I would figure out how Wing Chun was supposed to be used in Combat... and to fully master its methods, within myself. Until you have great repeatable success, when fighting against other arts skilled fighters... then you really are not very qualified to make judgements and comparisons, of the artform. Bruce Lee proved this. Lee only learned part of the first level of wing chun... and he made the incorrect assumptions, that the hand drills, were actually meant to fully represent combat applications. Since he found combat related flaws in these drills... he assumed that the arts methods, were very flawed. The truth, is that most of Wing Chun's hand drills... are mostly designed for Rapid Dual Arm Coordination development... and not for actual combat application. While SOME of the movement can be directly applied to combat... not everything will work, as seen in the drills. Especially because the Drills are "Static". They do not teach you all of the ranges of combat. Only a single range.. and without the realistic "Entry" into that range.

@@WeCanFunk1983 Part 2. I want to add a little video example. Watch this video... and pay attention to the very end "Test". In this test, they place a bathroom scale on the floor. Then they place a single Mahjong Domino on the scale. The old Master stand on the Domino piece. Next, they have a younger male.. trying to push the old man off. No matter how hard the young man pushes.. the old man can not be moved. Not only that... but when they looked at the scale... they saw that the numbers were climbing higher and higher... as the young man pushed the old man. This was indicating, that the old Master, was able to route the young mans Horizonal push energy... through his body... and downwards into the Scale. This is a rare example of "Internal" based Wing Chun. It is one of the ways, how the art is Supposed to function. However, a lot of Wing Chun practitioners, and teachers.. have never learned this Internal arts method, of "Rooting". As such... when a larger and stronger OP challenges their structures... they are not able to deal with that much strength and power, without being "Uprooted", and or having to quickly move... to prevent being over-powered. This rooting technology, is also for more than just stability. It can help to deliver much more powerful blows. And it can also help dissolve a lot of the energy, when you eat very heavy hits. There is a lot more.. but it would take too many pages of text, to describe it all. *Hiro Watanabe is a true master! I always enjoy watching his videos and hope to meet him if I go to Tokyo to visit. He also has a series of videos on JKD Japan's channel from many years ago*
It does Not take Wing Chun further. Bruce Lee, and other JKD people... have never learned the complete art of Wing Chun. You can not advance, what you have never fully learned.
I love when Master Hero is here. He reminds me of my uncle and how you would always have to be on guard because he might slap box you. Master Hiro and Togo have a great bond to allow for that. Very cool! Hi from Denver USA.
Those people dont understand Wing Chun. Most critics, have never learned the full art. Even Lee, never got to learn Wing Chun's advanced Leg Fencing methods... and those are very critical to fully functional combat.
Thank you so much for keeping the english subs, can you please try to convince Sakaguchi-san to bring back english subs to his channel next time you meet him XD
