Citlali can drop the drake down if you keep a small distance, wait for him to start doing the shooting attack (when his core lights up) and just hit some normal attacks. He'll fall down since citlali's NA homes onto the drake's core.

@Tokirin_1 i believe it works for citlali because she throws something physically, not just magical hits like mona or sucrose. So any catalyst with a similar mechanic might work. I haven't tried myself honestly so maybe try the catalyst of your choice against the drake in the overworld first Edit: maybe baizhu would also work since he is sort of similar to citlali in his NA being homing missiles/objects thrown towards enemies

You can alternate normal attack and charge attack for the bird shield. Normal and charge attack has seperate ICD, so it can break the shield substancially faster. the combo I like to use is NA + NA + CA and repeat. Not to mention in the beginning, when the bird fly up, the surf bite can hit the bird with proper timing, there's a brief period when the bird hover lower, that's when the surf bite can hit it. And different topic, I've recently realised how good yelan is with Mualani especially this abyss (for the shield), she has became my favourite hydro pairing. Yelan may not gives the most dmg amplification but she gives a lot additional damage instances each bite from her burst which makes up for the inferior buff. (even Xinque is pretty good, additional damage + very fast shield breaker, xinque is actually used in low cost Mualani speed run this abyss) This realisation made me wanna get elegy bow for more buff prowess from Yelan, and appreciate additional damage is just as good as dmg buff. But of course, standard set up, Xinque or Yelan won't kill the Wolflord before it enters shield phase. But still reliable enough. I hope this inspired you to try yelan/xinque for Mualani this abyss xdd

Btw about Xilonen buffs.. does she have to crystallize that element to give her buffs? I always see players apply the element then crystallize it with the two normal attacks, i thought she doesn't have to like only 2 AA and that's it
