I am so pleased and so happy for you that things are working out with the batteries . It is a little bit of an investment, but I have to say it’s well worth it and I can’t wait to get those next four batteries. Thank goodness for a good friend in GBear that was able to help you. You won’t have to worry about power anymore🎉🎉

If you make changes with the overkill solar app. With used solar panels I wonder why they are being replaced. If a new roof is needed and the labor is so much and solar panels are so cheap may be one reason. Another maybe there has been failure with some and it is cheaper to replace them all instead of trying to find the bad ones. If that is the case will others have failures? I have questions also. I hope you got good ones. It might not hurt to keep an eye on maximum out put now and keep a log and if you see a decrease check the strings that are low. A good reason to have two strings the same so you can compare the out put at any time.

@JR-xw5dk that's excellent advice I had the solar split into 2 1250w systems but with the old batteries I wasn't getting the charge needed, now I may have to split them again!

Some inverters like my old one did not charge past 60% was a firmware fault, no BMS maybe that happened to your old batteries, half charging. I would test 1 of each 12v style and compare the output, or charge with something else, your old batteries might be better than you think just never got a full charge. Took my bank 5 days to get a full 51.6v after 5 months of only half charging and it had more than enough pv to use, Pb C batteries are 100%@51.6v, 3 months straight of float maybe 1 hour of absorb, they can now hold up to 52.6v. Downside if your batteries were never 100%, most likely too damaged to rebound 100% after years of PSOC. Never trust the inverters voltmeter , multimeter check the battery leads on absorb, float and resting, even my new one I had to drop charge by 2V, I know of 5 brands that do the same thing, even Victron can be wrong.

Thanks Bob you are right I never had my 200ah batteries at full charge! I had an incident yesterday where I lost power in my all-in-one. Turns out I had two battery cables that I made that failed and I went down to 6v in the lifepo4s so I ran the generator and let the solar recharge the batteries and was back at full power in roughly 10 hours! Have had no problems since and at night we are at 52.8 volts with full bars on the meter! And my shunt is like .03 lower than the all in one! It's a fantastic system dang near worry free! Thanks for stoppin by Bob God bless!

@@tonylarson1960able .3 is minor but check the charge rate the variance can grow while charging, easy fix lower the inverter charge till the meter reads right.

There are balancers for 12v batteries in series. If your has Bluetooth you should be able to adjust the cutoff voltage on the high and low side. How much is your idle consumption?
@tonylarson1960able
@tonylarson1960able Ай бұрын
Our cut off is at 46v it was done through the all in one! I'm still trying to figure out the monitor/shunt so far I'm disappointed in it the blue tooth range sucks! I'm not real sure about idle consumption I'm not a tech guy! Lol I've learned all this on the fly!

@JR-xw5dk These Li Time batteries are good for 4S4P already with 200A BMS's. If Tony puts 16 of these on his system, he could power his neighbors too.😁👍
@JR-xw5dk
@JR-xw5dk Ай бұрын
@@tonylarson1960able if you have the 12v cut off at 11.3v and the system at 46v it you let you know if they are not balanced and you would lose power, but if that happens you know you have a low battery. You can get it back and running by lowering the cutoff of that battery back down to the original setting.

@JR-xw5dk the batteries are ran in series and we are running a 48v system at 240v split phase output! Since we have switched over our power loss after sunset is only 4v nighttime readings the batteries are at 52.7v and batteries are still showing full! I hope this is what you are talking about! Like I said I'm not an electrician or tech guy GBear help me set everything up! I'm still learning this stuff! I'm a retired heavy equipment operator! Ask me about moving dirt I'm your guy! This stuff has been a new venture for me! The fact that I got it working is a great feat for me!

@@tonylarson1960able is it really heavy? Low frequency inverters are old school with large copper wound transformers. They handle large motors very well. They do use more idle current but last a long time due to simplicity of the load delivery. A 5000w inverter can handle a surge of 15000w for several seconds. High frequency inverters are lighter in weight and can be easily paralleled to add more power later if needed. They are more energy efficient but use mosfets instead of large copper transformers to deliver power. A 5000w can handle 10,000w surge for less the. A second in most cases. They are newer technology but have come a long way in a short time. Durability is the question with all the circuitry involved and many mosfets have been replaced by owners that have burned them out. IMO it’s best not to push high frequency inverters beyond 75% of rated power if you want them to last. Either way, I’m glad for you it’s nice to have a reliable power supply to keep cool in this heat.
