My dad was in the 1 st Btn Welsh Guards,David Evans 34 (Yanto) I'm trying to put a photo album together for him so if anyone knew him and has any pics it would be much appreciated.

Served with a few of the survivors of the galahad in the TAs in the 80s in Swansea and some of the Cardiff boys aswell.

Glyn Thomas too another respected hero from Llanrumney gave the ultimate R.I.P. HERO

@@patricialacerda9300 Hi, Glyn was from the same council estate as myself. We both attended Llanrumney High School in the 70s. After leaving school Glyn joined the Welsh Guards .When the Falklands war broke out Glyn sailed away on the QE2 with the task force. Tragically Glyn was killed On the sir Galahad in Bluff cove along with 48 of his company.RIP GLYN.

Perdone que me meta y opine este post ya que es un homenaje a sus caídos y con todo respeto le digo que Galtieri no significa nada los argentinos, las personas que fallecieron ahí y las que volvieron dieron todo por su país y no por él. Argentina tiene un profundo sentimiento hacia esas islas, eso nada más quería decirle. Pero bueno ninguna Guerra es buena... You obviously don't know fuck all then ​@blahblah6968 Suggest you research the situation that left the Battalion on the Sir Galahad, let alone make further comments about being other than their operational effectiveness! Hyped up media with paras this, marines that, but not all units are mentioned who did make the trek south, let alone battles that all units participated in. Look up the conflict chronology, especially with the unit you just disrespect with that fucking moronic comment.

@@blahblah6968not entirely correct they supported the attack on goose Green. Also half the battalion was dropped off the night before Sir Galahad was bombed. The rest of the battalion should of disembarked before first light but the battalion 2nd in command refused to do so without a written order and his men paid the price for it. Before commenting maybe you should research what happened and speak to some of the veterans.

The war was about the islands that England discovered in 1765 that the country of Argentina (which didn't come around till 1816) tried to claim

@chuckis47 The Falklands Is Next To Argentina About 300 Mile Away They Invaded The Islands Which Are British And A Task Force Was Sent Down To Retake Them Back , In Total On Both Side Around 900 Were Killed In Action They Invaded On April 2nd 1982 And War Ended On June 14 Where The White Flag Fluttered Over The Islands
