Somehow, I get more satisfaction watching the milo come in over anything else. I have never farmed and I'm a bit older than your dad. But as a kid here in Central Texas, leaving the city and going out to our country place to work (25 acres in the Lost Pines area of Texas) even though there was cotton and corn grown, there were more LARGE milo fields we'd pass by. Reminds me of times with my daddy when I was Thomas' size. Thanks Daniel.

Hi Daniel, while watching your video I was saying that the Milo plants looked pretty green, up here in Kansas we don't usually combine it until after a frost or two in late Oct and the plants are dieing so I agree it would be good to kill the plants.. Good Luck !

I could never combine Milo with that green of a stalk. Spraying it will make a big difference. One thing about Milo you never loose money on the crop, but will never get rich too!

Not sure if y'all have ever tried to store milo before but it was nightmare for us when used to raise it..always wanted heat and cap up on top you could climb the bin open the man hole lid and it smelled just like wiskey had to turn fans on and run them non stop till we moved it

Who is Milo seed as bad as flax seed? N sense FL a X. Seed? Or flax is the slipperiest little sweet, flat seeds. 50 years ago were used a steel 100 bushel flair box,, but we had to line the back, bottom and corners with burlap sacks so that it wouldn’t leak out. It was like hauling water, ha ha.🤣🤣

I’m gonna keep bugging you about cotton picker versus cotton stripper. They both have round balers, but the stripper appears to be the better option. But since I know nothing about cotton, maybe I’m dead wrong. Maybe the cotton picker is better. Over in Texas, the sky with thousands of acres of cotton and Milo, uses a cotton stripper, but his machines do not have Baylor‘s, so they build these big cotton units that are pressed down so they can be picked up by stack mover on the back of a truck. They seem to lose a lot of cotton in the transfer process from the stripper, to the hollowing unit, Yep, that puts the cotton in the stack builder. I asked him if there was a way of putting a bailing unit on the back of his strippers, that would replace the baskets? The the stripper machines with failers look identical to the stripper machines with baskets. The strippers travel at about 8 mph. So tell me why you use the picker, please.

A cotton stripper picks everything on the plant and is a little more trashy a cotton picker only picks full matured bulbs I know people have said why there are cotton balls still left a cotton picker leaves the small immature ones a cotton stripper stripes everything including leaves and limbs a cotton picker gives you a higher quality bale than a cotton stripper hope this helps
