Amazing to see you driving a real modern Classic AMG on the channel. I was waiting for this a long time haha. I have a W204 C63, and just love it! It was and it is one of all time dream cars. This engine and everything else is simply perfect. The Black Series is everything you need on an AMG, Shmee has the two best, SLS Black and C63 Black. Thanks for doing this video! Fantastic video, especially considering it’s a one take! It’s brilliant to hear you loved the experience of the C63. I have a 2012 Coupe performance pack and I can totally relate to how you feel, it’s such a perfect all rounder and gives me a feeling like no other car has. I’ve always loved the black series but I do agree with you on the aero pack, I would rather it have the carbon lip spoiler like on my performance package C63. Then the tailpipes, I wish they kept the regular oval ones instead of the square ones they use on the black series. It’s a shame you don’t get the fat rear arches on the normal C63’s, something which I’m very envious of the black series, it just looks the absolute business!

Another cracking video Joe! You said it so well, for me it's how a car makes you feel, not its 0-60 or 60-120 times. Modern cars are losing that sense of character and rawness arguably they are better cars but for us petrolheads I'd be taking the German mosters from around 10 years ago when the engineers lost their shit and built some stunning cars! Be great to see some ring footage. Keep up the great content.

Money being no object, this is the AMG I would get..have always loved the W204 style vs the newer models of the C. Don't kneed the Black Series, just the standard AMG is more than enough. Maybe when I'm older and need a last min thrill before I'm senile, will try to at least just drive one let alone try to find one...who knows where petrol cars will be by then (about to turn 40).

I’m very much and seriously considering swapping my 440i MPPSK for the W204 C63 Performance Pack for nostalgia, noise, and what will be hopefully a timeless classic. My neighbours really won’t like the increase in noise 🤣 I look forward to my test drive this weekend and this video certainly helped. Thanks!

I was a 2015 M3 driver until very recently and loved it but my wife hated it so much . I now have a newish C43 Coupe and I really do love it . Not so track focused as the M3 but much less crashy on our bumpy roads . The Sport plus mode is mental it sounds awesome . I love your car vids Joe .

The C63 Black Series has passive suspension only and you could spec it with buckets (although you lose the rear seats).

Listen to any decatted M156 in real life, I beg to differ. The only thing the S65 has over the M156 is that juicy intake noise. For the rest of it, it's hands down the AMG. What an orchestra.

Peter Nis I’ve never heard a decat one in person admittedly. Well, not that I know was Definately decatted anyways. They are both incredible engines from an era which we will never see the likes of again. Your right about the intake noise though, especially with the Eventuri plenum. It’s just orgasmic!

You forgot the estate version in your intro, Also no c63 of this generation including the black series has any adjustment inside the cabin to the suspension. The black series has kw v3 coilovers but you cannot adjust anything inside the car. The aero pack also gives you a diff cooler too.

What’s the annoying high pitch squeak from the front shots ? Is that the aero? If that’s engine related I’d get the inlet manifold gaskets replaced, a high pitch noise appeared on my m156 after a long road trip of thrashing, and that cured it. Epic vid joe, the BS will always be a fan favourite!

I don’t own the special versions (black series and CSL mentioned) but after daily driving an E46 M3 and then needing a family car I tried everything and bought a W204 C63 estate 3 years ago. On PS4S tyres, a plate LSD and a remap it’s a car that I still absolutely love getting into every morning. It’s not as dynamic a chassis as the M3 on the limit but it more than makes up for it with its character and daily practicality. Still got the E46 and occasionally get the itch to swap them both for something newer or a car that embodies everything I love about them both but… what is there?

Great Video (as always). I can’t help but think that for about a 5th of the price of the Black series you can get a similar age C63. Virtually the same engine and definitely not only 20% of the fun compared to the Black series. That’s what I’d go for.

I’ve always felt the same really, I have a C63 myself and all the feelings and emotions Joe experienced with the black series is what I feel in my own C63. There’s no doubt the black series is special and looks the absolute business. But I wouldn’t feel too short changed with a regular C63, especially when you’re saving the best part of £70/80k.

@@NathanMannin The BS feels tighter and sporty, as you would expect. I have the race seat option in mine, which adds to that feel. I'm sure you could do mods to a stock one and get about the same result. The biggest difference with the BS is that it looks crazy aggressive, and will go up in value a lot due to it rarity. The extra cost of one doesn't justify the difference in fun.
