Rowan Arias these guys play these songs over and over and they have memorized the notes on a subconscious lvl. Most of them can play entirely blind. There body also has muscle memory as the brain will recognize the song and tell these guys bodies what to do in a way.

Yeah, 99% of Dragonforce is actually very easy to play. I was playing their songs just a few months after learning drums. Really the most difficult parts are the straight 16th double kicks and the odd blast beat here and there, but those aren't all that hard.

Well if you can see, he's playing on an electric kit-- not a Rock Band kit. So...he's playing "real drums" unless you mean acoustic in which case it's hard to tell. No. Those plastic pads give a little better bounce than actual drum pieces (especially when compared to hi-hat and cymbal which are supposedly metal parts). Pay attention to the fingers of his right hand and how they can be loose with only thumb and index holding the stick? I don't think you can do that while playing real drums. Not at that speed anyway. Those pads really help in saving power in the swings of the wrists. That said his endurance was really good. It's pretty amazing that the real drummer of the song (or others who can play it) can last so long playing the real thing.

@@harrislam Holding the sticks with just your thumb and index finger is absolutely the right technique for playing any drums. The rest of your fingers help with the rebound. Also, wrist does basically all the work when playing drums. You don't necessarily use your arms at all when playing drums, other than moving from one drum head/symbal to another.

Paul Churchill he's using mesh heads which are much better than cheap plastic ones. they don't feel perfect, but some drum kits are even coming with mesh heads now to cut down on volume
