Greg, Your 1st Gen is still impressive at 703 HP, not bad considering this is the truck's 1st dyno event. To your point, a loaded dyno may be the missing link to seeing the true performance. Looking forward to the next update. Appreciate you sharing. Still this is a very impressive video.
@huntersagoon5 жыл бұрын
My guess is boost and drive psi gauges are hooked up backwards as mentioned in an earlier video. I don’t believe the boost would peg while the drive slowly creeps up as it did in the video- rather the drive would peg and the boost to follow. With that in mind, it’s a 60# gauge and only reached 55 psi on boost. Meanwhile the drive was pegged lol

700 hp for a 350k mile truck..... thats still pretty good. who knows you could be making more and the dyno was just off. it does seem to smoke a ton and almost like the turbos cant keep up with the amount of fuel the truck has. 12 valves are smokey pigs naturally but might find some power there.

Buries a 100 pound boost gauge and makes 700, I don't think so. Either way it's an awesome truck, with a sweat set of compounds!
@kevinbauer82615 жыл бұрын
JD Kirane boost pressure is resistance to flow. He’s running a stock 12V head so it ain’t flowing as much as the chargers are putting out and it’s backing up in the head itself. Not only that but unloaded dynos are basically useless on turbocharged engines.

@GREG_ALBERALLA The 1st gen is somewhere around 1000lbs (more more) lighter than the 3rd/4th gens 4x4 you play with. That will make 7000HP feel like 900 to the butt dyno. 100PSI boost indicates a restriction somewhere. I'd start at the head. Mild porting will likely help that cam work wayyy more efficently.

Something must be off with his gauges. Greg A stated he had at least 100psi boost pressure. If that was his EGT gauge on the right, it was buried at 2000 or 2500... Way too high of egt for my taste. My guess is fuel timing is off and/or too much fuel. Boost air could be way too hot as well

Simr Khera - Wow you are the goofy one! Try Googling AFC Live maybe?? It’s for controlling the *AFC* on the mechanical P-pumps in a 94-98 12 valve. Genius
@craigr7775 жыл бұрын
AFC live isn’t going to make this truck gain 200HP. This engine is worn out. You can tell by the boost gauge it’s not a lag problem. It’s immediately pinning the boost gauge when he floors it to start the dyno run. It’s also not the unloaded dyno. It would be making lower than normal boost if it was a low load problem and other trucks would be affected too. It’s an engine or timing problem. He has installed the adjustable timing gear and timing case cover with easy access so he could have taken the time to mess with the timing and find the perfect setting where power was at the peak but he didn’t for whatever reason.
@robertmacarthur39245 жыл бұрын
@@craigr777 obviously the engine is worn out as you said. But he was going for power on the dyno in this video, to help counter things and maybe produce a number he was after, he could have turned down the fuel some to help the chargers out. The truck is obviously tuned well enough for the street, but dyno and street tuning are not always the same. Hence the reason I mentioned afc live.
