Appreciate your video! My 2005 driver seat needed some TLC. Your video quite helpful. I ordered one off Ebay. Not OEM. Your suggestions of Hog Pliers made life SO much easier. Got to say, your suggestion of Zip Ties as well was the only way I could go. With new seat cover on and seat reinstalled... looks brand new! Frankly I'm pretty surprised the color seemed match as well as it did. Thanks for posting! The entire process took about 2 hours... We shall see how it holds up, but for the price -- can't be beat! very happy!

Really appreciate your attention to keeping Viewers able to fully follow along! Have had my replacement Bottom & Back Covers in hand for years now, as well as bought all the hogrings/pliers for job, so happy to find this as am finally getting set to attempt. A tip I remember from another DIY on replacement noted that steaming out the foam rejuvenates the plushness after all those years of butt squish! I knew those gloves were coming off... Thanks Brother.

I think I bought the same one that you bought. The plastic trim, isn't stiff enough, and will twist off immediately, after seating it 29:57. I did find that you can seat is, with hammer, and soft taps. But once seated, I had to use plastic ties, to hold it in place. Thanks for posting the video. Good work.

Same thing for me. It has held up decently so far, but it’s far from being a direct replacement.

Thanks for video. I have same eBay replacement cover. Couple questions: 1. I didn’t see you put those 2 metal rods back in. Are they not needed? 2. To zip tie the front do you cut a hole in cover for zip ties? I didn’t see you do that. Since used zip ties is it necessary to cut the section out on both corners like you did?
@exploremoretrd88655 ай бұрын
Which metal rods are you referring to? It’s been a while but I believe I had to cut material to feed the zip ties through. The cover wasn’t a direct fit so it did require some modification.
@dougclayton82415 ай бұрын
@@exploremoretrd8865 At the 9:15 and 16:44 points on the video you remove small long rods. I'm guessing those are to attached hog rings to and need to be reinserted maybe?
@g_unit67732 ай бұрын
@@dougclayton8241 the replacement cover doesn't use the metal rod inserts rather it uses stiff plastic pieces instead. I actually used zip ties instead of hog rings and it worked great
