Jeff, I seem to get altitude sickness if I go hiGHer than LE grade or maybe I'm just cheap. I congratulate Toyota for another very fuel efficient, Hybrid offering but I want you to ask your pal Akio to send us the 2 door Land Cruiser Prado as the new, budget-priced FJ as well . There is a 2 door Wrangler, a 2 door Bronco and very soon there will be a 2 door LR Defender so TMC needs to get back in the 2 door 4X4 game too. As #AmericasFavoriteToyotaSalesman , your opinions ought to have a lot of influence over TMC's future product offerings ;-)

This seems nice. However, I am curious as to whether Toyota will offer an opening regular size sunroof. The stargaze pano roof is nice to show off. However, If I have a sunroof, I want to open it up for fresh air. Also, the car area is smaller than the Rav4.

Sorry, in the review you mentioned that along with the 2 USB ports in the bottom part of the dash, there was also a 12 volt circular port. Unless I am mistaken, I don't think that is a 12volt port as the hole for the cigarette lighter is too small. Can you please confirm.

Jeff, I agree, maybe the earlier version was ahead of its time. I was looking at them a couple years ago when they dropped it, then moved my search to the Highlander, but pulled the trigger on a SR5P 4R. No regrets, but obviously it's a big difference from the Venza. The Venza has an upscale profile to it, the BMW GT comes to mind (albeit briefly).

@@thesultan4030 This new one is really just a fancier RAV4 with the exact same wheelbase and a slightly smaller interior.There is nothing wrong with that but it does leave a space in the Toyota lineup for a truly 'Venza-sized' CUV between the Highlander and RAV4/Venza.

Diana Au It’s really about the same size as the RAV4. It’s a little lower, wider, and longer. It’s the same wheelbase as the RAV4. It has less ground clearance and no tow rating. It has less cargo capacity than the RAV4. Toyota needs a unibody hybrid SUV that is actually in between the RAV4 and Highlander, but almost as tall as a 4Runner (Passport size, but with more clearance). Think of this as a Luxury RAV4. I believe the Venza is built in Japan so I’d expect really high QDR.

The old Venzas were nothing like the same generation of Rav4. I have a 2009 Venza and love it, Ive driven every generation of Rav4 and hated them all, EXCEPT 1st gen and current gen. The Venzas were like a Highlander,Camry and Sienna all crushed together!

I went to our local Toyota dealership in NC yesterday. They said they had a 2021 Venza in stock when I called at 9. When I got there at about noon, it had already been sold! Demand is high! So I looked at a 2021 Avalon Hybrid. The sales rep turned the engine on. The rattling sound of the engine, well, rattled me up! He said the AC was on full blast and the AC of the seats too, which is why the engine was revved up he said. Hybrids rattle and roar when you push down the gas pedal; some more than others. I'm hoping that the Venza being new from the ground up, is not as noisy. A Lexus 300h I drove last year did the same thing. I'm now so used to my wife's 2018 Tesla Model 3 which takes off like a rocket with zero noise. After that, these hybrids are hard for me to put up with as regards the engine noise. If I do get a hybrid, I'll have to *learn to get my foot off pushing hard on the gas pedal! :)* Hey, so it takes a whole minute longer to get to where you want to go...big deal! :)

Thanks for showing the knobs and buttons for the infotainment interface which is standard on the LE and XLE. The reviews for the Limited's capacitive touch interface are justifiably poor. For that reason alone, the XLE is the one I would purchase.

Looks like the LE has all the basics standard plus a few extras like the hands free tailgate, wireless charging and 18" alloy wheels. Wireless charging without wireless CarPlay and wireless Android auto is of limited value since you still need to plug in to use those features. Not sure there is another Toyota you can buy with that combination of options without being forced to get a moonroof that cuts a few inches of front and rear headroom. People who want leather, moonroof, 19" wheels, fancier JBL stereo with bigger screen etc. can get a higher trim. Too bad about the prop rod.

My mother has the 2014 Venza tol model, push button start, etc w/ leather seats. THIS Venza really doesn't seem as BIG as the older one😕. The inside is definitely a lot smaller, i wonder why? I look at my mom's venza and from the back seat it is like a limo. PLENTY of leg room for my super tall nephew and dad to sit. And that front end is super long for what reason? This looks like how the Rav4 looks now...It's a no for me.

I am not that tall (6'2").. But the big probleam I have is that SUV for the past 5 - 10 years is that the rooflines are getting lower and lower. If you look at 18:49, it looks like Jeff's head is right up against the roof. And Jeff is probably only about 5' 9" or 5' 10".. (a guess).. Plus, when you are taller and your head is up higher in the cabin, the visibility is terrible (hence safety suffers due to poor visibilty). I wish they would raise the roofline on crossovers and SUV's about 3 or 4 inches. I know this hurts gas mileage some.. but I would gladly pay a bit more at the pump for better visibility, safety and comfort.
