Rick, you helped find me the 9'6" last year. I get so many comments on that board, the video just doesn't do it justice, its beautiful! Especially the black / silver etching around the rails, I love it!

Another great video Rick. I have one more positive note on the 'One'. Our local shop on Maui, Second Wind, rented a 9'5" of that model to our friend who was just learning. Our beginner friend loved it, and I even borrowed it to catch a few waves on and was pleasantly surprised since I have never ridden a SUP that big before. The real surprise happened when I took it out in some light wind with a 5.9 meter windsurf sail and had a blast riding some tiny little waves. When the wind picked up, the One started planing like no other SUP before or since. Usually, SUPs have too much rocker to plane with a windsurf sail, but the One took right off. Like you said, one board for everyone. (I have a photo of the One planing if you want me to send it to you to share as proof of what it can do under sail.)

Hi John Thanks for sending me the pic of you windsurfing the 9'5 ONE... it looked great! You are right about the rocker... it would make it an easy windsurfer. Some day I'll find an older big rig sail set-up and do some windsurfing on it.

I love my Sunova The One 9'5. After 18 months of flatwater paddling and surfing it still looks in mint condition. Amazing quality. @Rick Weeks I am considering adding the 10'2 for longer touring and small surf. Thanks for sharing the video.
@rickweeks3 жыл бұрын
Hi Maarten, awesome to hear you are loving your ONE! The 10'2 is a very different board from the 9'5, in that it is wider and feels quite a bit longer, so it really is a great paddler. Glides so easily on a long paddle trip and I swear, mine is lighter than my old 9'5!!

Thanks Fabio... it really is a great family friendly flat-water board and relaxing to surf in small waves

Ahh this one I am very familiar with Rick. Was my first board and I still love it. Learnt to sup surf my local beach break in everything from ankle slappers to chest high and the occasional really sketchy bigger day😬. Life is a little more performance on the flow now but looking back I learnt so much about footwork and trimming on the One + once I worked out how to push hard bottom turns you can get it into some bigger waves....... kinda😁
@ManOfSauce3 жыл бұрын
It's also a pretty tough unit, I take it out in some really nasty stuff and it gets tumbled and beaten and in 2 years of 4 or 5 sessions a week I've only had to do 1 repair

Glad you like you ONE Kingsley! I had surfed the XXX version in Thailand 3 years ago, but when I picked up this TR3 version, it blew me away how light it is!

Thanks Rick for bringing back the feeling of the ONE on that memorable day!!! For a newb like me thats only been on a soft top getting to feel and paddle on the Kanga and Point Break and a few others i cant recall :( , The One felt right for my 1st real board. That R95 paddle is looking foward to meet The ONE at Spunkys in July!!! Love that paddle : D

Hey Bill!!!! I am glad you saw this before I told you... get the shock of seeing yourself when you least expect it! That was a great morning with you paddling all the boards. It was awesome to see your face and hear your instant stoke for this board. I am happy you are loving that paddle, it's the only one I use anymore! See you next winter 🤗

It's a great flat-water board for everyone, including the kids and the dog..... and a nice bonus that it can be used is small waves for people just learning to SUP surf.

Hello mista Weeks!! If you ever outgrow this great board I would recommend the Sunova Creek 9'4" x 32" Awesome shape, an instant classic, I'm sure you'll like that one! Peace, Rob! :-)

Hi Robert! Thanks my friend, not sure if you are having a bit of fun, or if you actually know that I AM Creek and that is my model. I designed the 9'4 as a custom for me to use in New England winters, when I couldn't ride my 9'4 Acid in a full wetsuit. It is a mash-up of 3 Sunova models... the Skate nose and rail line, Speeed tail and Acid rocker for a more stable winter performance board.. Here is a link to the video I made surfing my 9'4 Creek 3 sessions last week kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y5Oso3aKhsirgJY

Why did you go so big with the One? Also, I love the Genration paddle! I like how they come with a carrying case - it makes it much easier to haul everything down to the beach.
@rickweeks3 жыл бұрын
Ok, thanks for the question.... it's an easy one to answer. When I saw it in the shop and picked it up, it absolutely blew me away how light it was. I thought "this is the PERFECT sized board for all recreational paddlers and families" Especially for a board that even a big guy can to learn on. It is super easy for a small woman to carry or load on the roof racks. The fact that it is excellent for a paddler who also wants to learn to surf, is a bonus. It is a fun and stable board in smaller, low power waves.... especially for a novice surfer. The GenRation paddle is the best paddle I have ever used! I love the handle and the small blade size on my S81. It is a bit stiffer shaft than I like, but the narrow blade mitigated any issue my shoulders would normally have with a stiff shaft.

@@rickweeks Good answer. It is a great size for recreational paddlers and for families.

Creek Life rules !!!

Thanks gb! I can't argue with that... it really does! Being a broke ass surfer dude has an awesome freedom and not a lot of complications. It requires that you have zero fear of the future.... because there's no safety net.

I feel that Mr Weeks should do a Sup give away of 1 or 2 of his less used boards to his subs that struggle financially. rules.. 1. Mr Weeks will travel to Australia ( he may drop in at Western Australia to meet with Bert first but he has to travel to the state of Victoria in the south east of the country). to present the board.. 2. He can have a paddle at Bells beach with me b4 the board is handed to me (the winner).. That's pretty much it really ..
@rickweeks3 жыл бұрын
simple enough Shane and I like the Bells Beach part a LOT! 🤗 Now all I gotta do is get a job, so I can afford to go 🤣
