Very informative and entertaining, thank you! We're taking delivery of our 175FQ in 2 weeks! Earlier this summer we bought a 2024 Jay Flight 195RB (the model that this 175FQ is replacing). It's only 7' wide & has a tiny bathroom with no sink, and although we could make it work, the improvements in this new model are too good to pass up. Our dealer's being pretty fair on a trade and we're looking forward to having a sink & vanity in the bathroom and the extra width & more room around the bed. Hopefully this will be our forever retirement camper! Regarding the cooktop: it's not hard to find the right-sized cutting board, either wood or composite, and add either 4 corner feet or a piece of wood along either end to raise it above the burners. We did that and it's been very helpful. It saves replacing the stovetop, and can be moved to double as an extra cutting surface. When we have only a few dishes to wash I place a microfiber towel on it & drain the clean dishes there instead of taking out my draining rack/tray. Also a good place to keep our in-use water glasses & Brita pitcher for the day. We don't use the propane burners unless we have to, (boondocking trips) as they really heat up the trailer in summer. We carry a one-burner induction hot plate & use it and the BBQ for most cooking.

AWESOME! SUPER EXCITED FOR YOU!! Thanks for the tip on the cutting board. We would love to be out camping in it or evening out making modifications, but ours is back at the dealership getting warranty work done. Hopefully, we'll get it back soon!

@@XploringwithJimandKathy Thanks, we are excited. Sure hope you get your unit back soon! If you Google images of diy gas burner covers for rvs you might see some good ideas. I belong to a Facebook group for the Jay Flight 195RB and there were some creative ideas; using wood glue to attach short lengths of dowel as legs to a wooden cutting board, glueing little empty plastic cylinder-shaped bottles to the bottom of a composite cutting board, placing a 4-sided tray upside down, etc. My husband glued & screwed a piece of wood on each end of a white cutting board, so we can pick it up by the open sides.

@bluesky1028-w8d We'll have to check it out. You need to join our group. we started for the 175FQ on Facebook. Here is the link facebook.com/share/g/QGMCwtfeVcHMZxcK/?mibextid=A7sQZp We just started it since there wasn't one for our camper yet. Hopefully, it'll grow like the others.

That thermostat only controls the propane heater. The AC is controlled by the knobs on the unit

You're correct. I wish they would have tied it all together in one location.

Thank You for the informative video you and your husband supplied. I am expecting delivery of the Jayco 175FQ in a couple of weeks as well. I didn't realize that there was no vent fan in the bathroom. In a small trailer like this, it would be a must. I think that if they didn't prewire the vent fan, you could probably steal the power from the light that is close by. In fact, I saw a KZbin video in which someone did that on a similar Jayco Camper. Also debating buying a collapsible ladder. I have a ladder in my home that would work when I am home, but not sure it would be necessary at the camp site. I would appreciate any thoughts on that subject. Thanks again for the information, and good luck with your camper.

@josephguttieri5427 first off, thank you we are glad they are helping people. We were kind of shocked when we noticed that there wasn't a review on this camper when we got it. We also started a Facebook group for it, here is the link for it: facebook.com/share/g/Esnd8L4dawwCTNqt/?mibextid=A7sQZp The vent fan may be an upgrade over the winter. We are actually going to take the bezel off when we get the camper back from the shop and see if the wires are there. As for the ladder, we are in the same boat. We have a Little Giant ladder at home but don't carry it due to it's size. As far as bring one along, you never know when you'll need to get on top of the roof, so we'll be buying one soon. Hope this helps and we can wait to see pictures of your camper when ya get it!!

Don’t seal the bottom of the shower. It is made that way so if any water gets behind the walls it can drain out.

All these new trailer videos make the same mistake. I think youre all just copying each other... no one shops for these units by the tougne, grab handles, steps, or stickers.
