I appreciate your love of simplicity in your camper… I recently bought a used “happier camper “( only 10 ft… lots of windows.. with a very simple dometic stove /sink) … I tow it with a Tacoma, learned to back it up with a little bit of practice, and now I can camp in the spring in the fall very very comfortably. I absolutely love it and I’m falling more in love with it all the time. …I just want to echo your words. Go for the exact type of adventure you want and you can do it…. It took me about three years of watching KZbin before just buying -and I am so happy that I finally got started on this small simple camper trailer mode😊😊😊 “ The Irony is …. if you don’t go in, you can’t find out.!” Thank you for your video and I hope to see you guys on the road.

Very nice! I have a 2023 16 foot Scamp which I had wanted for many years! There were some quality issues as well but through a local RV repair place, Scamp took care of all issues under the warranty. You were talking about swaying; mine swayed badly at times at Interstate speeds, especially changing lanes or passing big trucks. I had an equalizer hitch system installed and the difference was night and day! (My trailer weighs 2000 pounds). I'm thrilled with the features that your Scamp has like the new better windows, the cover that goes over the super bright battery status gauge. Since a Scamp is a real keeper, I may retrofit mine with those better windows and such. Thank you for the tour of your Scamp!
@mysomervdaАй бұрын
Loved your review. I picked up my Scamp Lite last month with mostly the same accessories. A few additional notes - first I was a little put off by having to pick up the Scamp at the factory, but after doing the 4 day trip back I think it is well worth it. Its a great way to get to know your Scamp and get a good feeling for how to tow it. - a couple of other features of the Scamp Lite, composite floors (no worries about rot) and double layer windows that improve the insulation. I still need to take mine out on real cold weather but is manageable for heating down to 32 degree mornings - i tow mine with a rav4 adventure, i don’t have not had any hint of sway ( i don’t have a sway bar) . Big trucks passing me don’t seem to worry it. I also did get the trailer brakes, again have not had any problems stopping it. - i got a mirror extender for the Rav4, it has been perfect for keeping an eye on whats behind me, i think it may be better option than the camera. - I cant backup to save myself , will try you idea of hand on bottom of steering wheel. Enjoying the adventure.
