One of my brothers after all these years just came over to the Harley Family. He went and test rode a new M8, was so impressed he came by on his new one today and we went riding. Me on my King and he and daughter on the M8, he's so happy he traded in the Nomad on it. I am already subscribed and did the bell but for some reason I have not been getting notifications when you put something new up.

I've ridden a Harley, but never owned one, but I've heard a lot of negative comments about how they rattle and ride tractor like, but by sounds of your view on this model they are finally making them more refined and up to date with modern bikes, but without losing that Harley rumble of course. By the way she is not completely stock because you took of the heal shift, now technically it's a chopper! Chopper: when you take parts off a bike to make it lighter or better suited for you or cut off pieces not needed. Or so I read in EasyRider!

Traded in my 04 Ultra classic old man bike for the new SGS , what a huge difference in low end torque, No more shaking bars at the lights. The shaking bars gets real old after sitting in traffic for a while. No more wallowing in the corners with the new suspension. I've been on two wheels for 53 years now, on dirt and street, owned japanese ,czech, british, spanish, austrian, and of course U.S bikes. I have to say the new Harley's are definitely getting better.

Thanks very much for sharing your new 2017 SGS M-8 with us. I enjoyed this video. Your new ride looks really great and I can see it has plenty of power. I love the color on your new ride too. I have a 2014 SGS that is close to that color. This past winter I had the SE stage 4 pro kit installed in my SGS and it runs very strong. Too much money invested now to trade it in but maybe someday I will trade it in for one of these awesome M-8 models. Enjoy your new ride and stay safe out there specially with the deer rut season starting up in a couple of months.

At the end of July my local dealership was making room for the 2017's and they made me a hell of a deal on a 2016 Road King. It was quite a step up from my 2015 sporty. Now you got me thinking I should have held out for a 2017 with the new engine.

Gorgeous bike. I love that color and I know you will enjoy it. I may get a SGS one day. But for now, I am not ready for a touring bike. I need to get more experiance and enjoyment out of my Iron. Please keep doing videos with your Iron also. That's what I am interested in and enjoy. That is why I subscribed to your channel in the first place. I also like the Dyna Low Rider S even though I haven't test rode one yet. I sat on one at a local HD dealership here before I got my endorsement and lived the way it felt (I was shopping for an Iron and they didn't have one).

The biggest thing I noticed when I test rode the 17 M8 engine was the lack of valvetrain and general engine noise. Congrats on the new bike! Also, would you be kind enough to send that rain you don't want to the northeast? We need it.

The local dealership in Meridian has a new Ultra CVO on the floor for $42,735. A bit rich for us. If you're a subscriber to one touring magazine some years ago, you'll recall that their safety editor was riding in Texas when he unfortunately hit a deer at night, and didn't make it.

Shawn, also the new locks for the side bags, nice new feature, have they upgraded the infotainment system? Any negatives Shawn that you tell about the bike, one I noticed is the right side , rear spark plug, may have to lift tank to change ? I am happy for you. I am here using my wifes youtube account. I am a Harley Mechanic and know what I need to know about that new motor to want one myself. Watching your vids is great, I have and had many Harleys mostly Shovelheads. I worked on many Evos and love only certain years of them because of the different designs of the different parts they improved on like the new compensators they finally got the handle on them. The bike you choose is a beautiful one and I would have picked that same one. I will be getting one more new one and it is hard not to go for the M8. Oh and if you are interested in some info that motor has a liquid cooled exhaust ports in the heads. Thanks for the show Clyde

Good video. How has the new M8 been. Its a first run motor. Have you had any issues? There's talk on the internet about fluid transfer(trans to primary) and oil sumping slower oil flow. I guess the best way to check fluid transfer is to regularly check trans fluid. Thanks.

Bikes are in my blood, I've owned 30 etc... but the thing I love the most about your video's isn't the bikes at all Shawn. It's the fact that you can't get through a vlog without mentioning the word beautiful several times. The world would be such a better, place if people were just a little more optimistic and could see the natural beauty in the people and places that are right under their nose all of the time. I know for sure the new M8 motor revs quicker and hits harder, but that doesn't mean it holds it through the range. I'll ride one of our demos when I can and let you guys know. There's local scuttlebutt here that with all the recent tuner fines Harley paid, they want to void your warranty even in you just put new slip-on's on your M8...I can't see why, but talk to your dealer before you add anything to it just to make sure!

That's just everyone getting excited and getting the ol' rumor wheel spinning... It's the same there at Harley as everything at our shop, if you have an emissions related issue, warranty may not cover it due to you modifying an emissions component(s). And we, nor Harley dealers can install a component or adjust the bike's EFI outside of legal perimeters. What's different at Harley is they no longer sell the "Pro" version of their SE Super Tuner, only the street version that keeps everything EPA legal. Harley still sells (right in the 2017 catalog) a full line of exhaust, intake and engine mods for the bikes. You just can't adjust the bikes EFI Mapping for "Closed Course use Only" settings any more, just EPA street legal only! Thanks for watching and commenting!
