Hey Joey, let's not talk about our ''minds'', ok? I was just thinking yesterday while I was side-dressing our cabbage with my 100, or was it the day before...lol, how enjoyable it is to cultivate with these tractors! My favorite I think, apart from corn, is field peas! ''While we were still sinners Christ died for us''! Hallelujah! Great as always my friend!

Good ole North Carolina. Lived 3 years off post at Fort Bragg. Wonderful people. Had my wife( but wasn’t married yet) Brought home $108.00 a month. As a pvt. Local people found out what a hard time we was having and started feeding us out of their garden, and meat out of their freezer. Just wonderful people. Really hated to leave there. God bless them.

I deeply regret not fixing my my granddads B.F. Avery model V the biggest problem was that my dad really liked to keep the old homestead clean up and he made a deal with an old man who what we called a scrapper was allowed to haul of Scrap iron so by the time I got old enough to be interested in doing anything with it all its special implements had been hauled for scrap iron. Disc, moldboard plow cultivator, planter etc.

I am so glad my first cousin Scott told me about your Channel. PTL another believer in the Word.🙏 The only way I know to create camera work as smooth and as fluid as what you've got in this video is through the use of a gimbal. The only way I know to create the perfect audio that you have in this video is through the use of a clip-on microphone. I say good job for investing in yourself so you can create these very enjoyable videos. Lilliston rolling cultivators really do a nice job. 🙂

I am new to the use of the 140. So, I watch every little detail to learn as much as I can about my own 140. What I am noticing is that sometimes Joey mounts the roto-cultivators to the front bars (I'm sure there is a name for these bars...). In other videos, I have seen him mount them to the larger bars in the middle of the tractor. Which position is best? Or, does it matter that much?
@Jtwes2 жыл бұрын
Hey Ben Welcome. The weight of them makes a difference we’re I mount them some times. If you have some 4 gang rolling cultivators you can probably get by with mounting them on the arms of the tractor with cuffs. Five gang are so heavy they are better off using extension arms and mounting them were your lay off bar goes. Plus mounting them with extension bars gives a better view of what there doing verses mounting with cuffs.

The rolling cultivators certainly do a fine job next to the corn. But, I don’t understand running the spade instead of the v shaped plow after the wheels. The spade seem to make a trench rather than just unpacking the soil. Next time through it will get even deeper. Can you explain your approach? Thanks. Very nice to watch!
@Jtwes2 жыл бұрын
Hey Blue sky thanks for watching. It’s a personal preference mostly. I like running the shovel feet till the last plowing. I try to keep the middles busted up as much as possible. It also helps maintain tractor drift because the wheels are kinda in a ditch. Once I lay it by I will do it with sweeps and it will flatten that out nicely.
@Legalmachinist2 жыл бұрын
@@Jtwes Ah, that makes sense too. Thanks for the reply. Looking forward to watching how the corn comes out!

Love these video's. I think Farmall had it going, no matter how much farming has evolved over the years. I still like the old ways better.
