Just got back from a 25 mile drive Mark. Several mistakes were made on the initial start in this video haha. It's going to tune quickly. I can feel it.

excellent! amazing how much difference a cam can make on the tune. hard to get good data at that point as well especially if the wb is slow to start or if hp tuners reads goofy. good luck fellas, cant wait to hear it smoothed out.

I made the mistake of getting to excited and not keeping the battery up, thought I fried the pcm but a full rewrite fixed it up.

Dude you been all in on this build I been keeping tabs over time, very much like my own C5Z (altho mines got a centri) I just ordered a corsa extreme axle back w/ 4” black tips been running the stock ti axle back for 11 years! All the mods still stock axleback! Gonna be like a new car

Thanks Toys. I'm always a little apprehensive on first start like this but once I know it really has oil pressure and it's NOT making scary noises then I calm right down. The tune is way way off. Going to have to start over in the VE table lol. Apparently adding 60 cubic inches and a different cam is quite a change.

You know the sad part was if we would have remembered for the third time now that when you hook the battery back up on a C5 for what ever reason it defaults the AC button to on. If we would have caught that this thing would have ran and idled on the first whack at it lol. That's ok though. When you are nervous of sorts you kind of lose track of the simple stuff. This car is running better than ever. Already up over 300 miles.

@@PNW_Car_Mods I def feel you on that one... I had check lists all planned out and then once it fired up that all went to shit fast lol... running around checking random things like a chicken with his head cut off.... I still don't know how I didn't manage to wipe the cam.

@@JackofAllTrades1 I don't miss flat tappet cams at all. My dad and I had a 302 swapped 1986 Toyota Pickup in 1990 yes it was nearly new lol and we had a hell of a time getting it started. I was terrified we were going to destroy the cam. Thankfully it survived. Fun thing was you couldn't drive that truck anywhere without people stopping you to talk about it.

Did you use you stock wiring harness

Amar it is the original C5 wire harness with adapter harness for the IAT, MAP Sensor, and the Throttle Body. Hope that helps.

What did you torque your upper oil pan bolts to?

@@PNW_Car_Mods that's what I was gathering from the manual, kinda scary. Chasing and oil leak, a couple were really loose as well as the valve covers. I put them to 14 with a 8 on pucker.
