Your next update and We’re going to need some diesels for the new Georges Creek Division of the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad. Former Western Maryland GP9’s No. 25 and No. 39 have been purchased by the WMSR, and we are so excited to get working on them. It sure is sweet to have some former Western Maryland power on our railroad.

Yay. Waterloo Central acquires CP #1238 and more news for 2024. A great way to start the year

now to figure out how they are going to get it home to their shops from Winnipeg. ether CPKC or CN is most likely going to move it on flat cars to Toronto Where CN will take it the rest of the way to Kitchener Ontario. Then comes a small problem they have to move it along a light rail line and there's car height scanners and if its too tall it can't go up on the flat cars. The other option is to drag it up on the Regular Night time freight train to Elmira which is at the end of the line but doing that would mean they would have to walk along with the locomotive as they drag it along which would take nearly 1 hour to do if they have to go slowly and they can't Hold up the LRT trains or delay the Freight train. Final option they have is to get CN to Drag the locomotive separately to its new home. sorry if this comment is too long

The western Maryland will have to put the fundraising for 734 on hold due to the fact that the running gear and pistons on 1309 are in need of a full replacement
@TranscontinentalRailfan11 ай бұрын
Yeah, hopefully a lot of tickets for the fundraiser trains are sold and individual donations are being made.

Canadian Pacific 1238 is quite a traveling G5 Pacific it had been owned by different homes one home that I remember her being at is mentioned in this video specifically this engine operated on the western Maryland scenic railroad in its early days it’s interesting that back then it was originally called the Allegheny Central railroad and 1238 operated on that line along with a sister locomotive number 1286 I look forward to this locomotive returning to the high iron alongside the Empress number 2816 at track speed

I sincerely hope the western Maryland scenic railroad is going to continue to operate GP30 number 501 probably my favorite 4 Axel second generation diesel I actually learned that the hump on the top of its head is actually a special air intake system to the diesel prime mover EMD and general motors branded the 30 innovations Incorporated with this locomotive I think it looks great and there are a lot of these engines still around today I learned this on the Charles Smiley Railroad DVD called diesel power on the Santa Fe they have their own KZbin channel

Excellent that CSX finally got to making their New York Central heritage unit! The lightning stripe livery that the New York Central had is attractive and iconic, but considering how Norfolk Southern and Metro-North used that livery for their respective New York Central heritage units, I was actually hoping that CSX would've gone with the jade green cigar band livery. Even though the jade green cigar band livery was not common on New York Central locomotives, it sure looked beautiful and different. Plus, I admit, I love any blue-green combination like aqua, teal or turquoise. At least CSX didn't go with the black cigar band livery, that would've been boring. Alright CSX, come on and bring out New York New Haven & Hartford heritage unit #1872 please! When that unit gets its paint job done, please don't have it be painted in the McGinnis or Alpert liveries, ConnDOT did that on all of their New Haven heritage units. Instead, could you please have it be in the older green-and-gold or orange-and-green livery with the NYNH&H script logo? I really hope someone from CSX sees this video and reads this comment. Thanks!

What kind of climax is 313 and what railroad and state Is it in?
@TranscontinentalRailfan11 ай бұрын
313 is a Climax A and it’s being restored at a building close by to the original Climax Locomotive Works building in Corry, Pennsylvania. Not far from Erie. Railroad is unknown, but it originally operated in Alaska.
