Being a mom is the hardest thing I've ever done and multiple times a day I'm wondering WTF I'm doing, but it is the most rewarding thing watching your children grow and enjoy life and watching them develop and knowing you have a huge hand in what that will look like for them. It is OK to set your baby down somewhere safe as long as they are safe and have a full belly, to go take care of yourself and your mental health. Babies cry, you have to get used to that. Especially with two!! There's more of that than with your first, you can't always jump up to grab baby as soon as you could before, when there was just one. YOU'RE DOING GREAT

This hit so hard. I remember being neck deep in the newborn life and being so overwhelmed as a FTM. You are doing great! No harm in letting the babies cry for a moment to collect yourself. Cry, scream, eat something, as long as they are in a safe space do what you need. ❤ I wanted to crawl through the screen and give you a hug and help.

I had to stop the video when you were crying to write this…you are not alone either, this is motherhood. There will be moments like this, maybe even a lot of them but don’t forget about you. Crying will not hurt them. Let the babies cry and you go eat or take a breather, take care of you so you can do your best for them. Also Harlows’s “normal” has also changed, she’s just trying to adjust as well 😌 you’re doing great!

This video hit SO hard. I am a first responder's wife also and mom of 3. I use to want six children because I love my children so much, but I didn't think about the first responder wife life when I wanted six. So.... I maxxed out my abilities at 2 kids and then a third surprise came. She is now almost 14 months. Anyway, came to say that I am glad you showed the realness and left in the bit with the crying. I am on antidepressants and actually have a hard time crying right now and that still brought tears to my eyes as I could very much relate. I got the same advice from my pediatrician to just set the baby in a safe space after basic needs are taken care of and just go outside for a little for yourself and I have still struggled with it. Thanks for the great content. You are doing GREAT! ❤

This sweet video has me bawling my eyes out ( in a good way, sorta). I’m home isolated with that effing virus and sick AF and can’t see my sweet grands. So thank you KL for sharing your sweet babies with us. I went from crying because I’m still feverish and in so much pain, to having a boost of serotonin seeing W and H. Yes avocado on anything is good! Wish we could grow them here in North Carolina but nooooooo lol.

Watching you have a big cry just made me want to be there to help you. The alone ness feeling is real when your stuck home with little ones. I have a 1,2 & 3 year old all 14 months apart and the struggle is real. We just try to make it to the end of every day it before you know it that day is over and a year has passed. The days are long and the years are fast is the truest quote I’ve ever heard

Oh man, that was hard to watch, not because you did anything wrong or anything like that but because it's so familiar and relatable and it brought up so many memories for me. I can't even tell you how many times I cried and how many times I had to just walk away and compose myself during the first year of my twin's lives (they're 2 now!) when it seemed like nothing I could do would make them calm down and stop crying. It's so, so hard. You are doing amazing. You're a wonderful mother and you love your kids so much and that's obvious to see.

Crying while you’re crying rn. Just had a night like this. My almost 6 year old needing me, 2 month old screaming and husband away and work. He’s gone for a week at a time and is home for maybe 2 days then back out. You are a strong woman and it’s okay to feel the way you do. We all need to just take a step away and breathe for a second and i know it’s hard hearing your babies crying and just wanting to be the one to soothe them and make them happy. Just know you’re doing amazing !! Your kids are fed, happy , healthy and loved! ❤❤

Thank you for sharing. I’ll be in the same boat in January. My daughter will be just over 2 with a newborn and my husband is also a firefighter/medic. Gone for 24-48hours at a time. No helpful family nearby. It’s already tough, and I’m internally freaking out about what my life will be like in a few months. I already have mental breakdowns on the regular with just the toddler because she’s already exhibiting the terrible two behaviors, no napping, whining, not listening. It’s so tough. If you figure out any tips please let us other first responder wives know! 😂 Good luck mamma! 💪

Aww i teared up at the ending there. Been there and now about to do it again 11 years later with baby #2 look into magnesium sprays and lotions for your babies and as the pediatrician about them for calming them for bedtime. Ive only recently discovered it and have been using it on myself and husband to help get a more restful night sleep and its magical. The only downside is that if tou are low in magnesium it can feel like a slight uncomfortable tingling sensation while it is absorbed. For that they recommend using a magnesium lotion to slow the absorption down to help prevent that.

I don’t have kids but want some one day. I just wanted to say good for you for acknowledging that it is sometimes overwhelming & you need a few minutes alone to reset. THAT’S what makes you an amazing mom. In order to give your best, you have to be at your best ❤

I remember those days and it’s so freaking hard, especially being a single parent, I feel for you, you just take a time out when you need one! Mom in time out for the sanity

Kristen, all mothers have overwhelming moments. It doesn't hurt the child to cry. While you collect your thoughts. Prayers & good vibes sent your way. We're all rooting for you! ❤ My step sad would always turn the TV volume way up due to his hearing loss. We bought his TV earphones. Which would work for nick.

Mom of 2 here. They are big now. It’s called witching hour that time of the evening. First week after we got home from hospital with my second it was crazy! New born was screaming and my daughter 3 at the time was screaming and even I had help she wouldn’t let anybody come close to her only me. Hang in there it will get better ones you get in to routine with new born. I was also sleeping in different room with my new born. It was easier for everybody.

So impressed with all the baby wearing. I gotta get better at it next baby. It’s so hard to be alone. My husband works long hours too, not firefighter hours thankfully 😢 I work every third weekend 2 12 hour shifts, so it’s kind of nice in a way for my husband to be alone with the kids all day, it really helps him understand what I’m going through on the hard days.

My daughter spit up a lot. Her pediatrician had me add rice cereal and she stopped spitting up. Also, I had many many moments of crying fits (myself). When I had my daughter I was by myself 18 hours a day. I barely had time to eat anything until my daughter's father got off at midnight. It's ok to not be ok.

I have my 22 months daughter and an almost 4 months baby. First like 2 months my oldest daughter had night terrors and I searched and it can be caused by having a new baby in the family. I started using a humidifier with lavender oil from frida and she stopped having the night terrors.
