What a stunning collection, you have great turning skills, well done to you! I notice your gouges are swept well back and a small radius at the tip, what angle do you grind them to? you are a master with them and cut beautifully, is there more or less risk of a catch with the grind such as yours? Forgive what may seem dumb questions but I'm a newby to turning. Kind regards, Tony.

@YamabikoWoodArt4 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much! !👏✨🇯🇵 This is a kind of cherry but similar to plum. By thinning the stem, it is possible to intentionally bend it! However, if there is a node somewhere on the stem, it will bend naturally. On soft wood, it may return after being intentionally bent. When there is a lot of cork layer like this tree, in most cases the body and skin are separated due to the difference in shrinkage. It is very nervous, but please try it!!

It is absolutely stunningly beautiful and amazing how you turn it so thin and it does not brake. What nature does with it after a while is awesome. You are an amazing artist.

Really an awesome piece. Great job. How often do you sharpen your tools during a project like this.

Thank you very much!!👏✨ I use bowlgouge for roughing and spindlegouge for finishing and delicate work. Polish the spindle gouge once again between the first time and between the petal work. In thin and delicate work, it may be difficult if the sharpness is poor.
