learning slurs with La Vita è bella and improvising on lovely bossa nova backtracks!! Your tutorials were what I needed, amongst the other things, bcoz scales can get boring and these livens things up!!!!

Hey Fiddlerman, I'm not a fiddler but just discovered and love your channel. This video reminded me of Don "Sugarcane" Harris, one of the best blues violinists I've ever heard. He was on a couple of earlier Zappa albums (where i discovered him), "Weasels Ripped My Flesh" and "Burnt Weeny Sandwich".
@1stfiddlerman9 жыл бұрын
twinsmm1 Thanks. I'll check out Don "Sugarcane" Harris when I get a chance. :)

Fiddlerman Thanks for the reply. Particularly "Directly from My Heart to You" on "Weasels Ripped My Flesh". ...figured i'd be more specific, as for some people, zappa is an acquired taste.

your videos are something fresh and reviving!! I'm doing the scales right now (I wasn't saying ur scales are boring but the classical ones everybody has to do when studying music..been there with guitar and piano...but I'm afraid I'll get myself into trouble (muscle-and techique-wise..u know what I mean?? I got the violin on March 6 and I am already doing Mull of Kyntire and all the 1 and 2 blues lessons...just so impatient...will that kill???

What the name is this song.sorry of my English :D
@1stfiddlerman10 жыл бұрын
It's not a piece. It's improvisation. :) I was trying to demonstrate that you don't necessarily need so many notes to play. Your English is great.

oh yes, of course, I also do my scales diligently/boringly....and try to get the clearest sound as possible from each string..but I have the bad habit of tampering with pegs, bridge etc all the time when I sense I'm not tuned (I use my keyboard for tuning) .and often mess it all up!! I'm seeing my teacher (I see him randomly ,.(() maybe tomorrow and will get him to fix things for me..

y'know, creative music is so simple, yet popular music is boring as hell in every public place you get that wash of music that makes you dizzy and most common people will just say that

If I was going to teach people how to play the Blues, I would teach them the Blues Scale: Tonic, minor 3rd, major 3rd, 4th, flat 5, 5th, and the 7th Or in the key of "C" it is - C, Eb, E, F, F# or Gb, G, Bb
