Regardless of the show being scripted (to a certain degree), seukwon was clearly the better vocalist between the 2, no matter how charming minhyuk's energy is, his voice cracked in some places and even totally lost it towards the end. Even he was obviously surprised when seukwon was mistakenly announced because he is self aware enough to know he's the one who fell short....it's great to be supportive of your stans and ships or whatever but blind fanaticism to the extent of demeaning other's talents making them out to be less deserving is disrespectful...the idols themselves know their potential and limitations, that's why they work so hard to improve, there's no need to devalue their peers just to make yourself feel better bout your idol losing this round smh.

@youtubersassemble it's all good, sorry if I came on too strong myself, my point is that this was pre-debut era, some were clearly more talented or lacking in areas but they all trained desperately to make it, and it's not fair to those who got eliminated to say they never actually stood a fighting chance because the show was staged. It's bad enough that some of their bros had to be sacrificed for monstax to be made but regardless of how much they have improved since then, that doesn't necessarily mean they were the best from the start. Try listening again with your eyes closed and see who had a more stable voice throughout the performance and you will know that the judges chose fairly (for their round at least). I'm not a hater of monstax, I like some of their songs but I give credit where it's due, and seokwon earned his right to stay up until the final selection and he could easily have become one of the final 7 if vocal ability was the only criterion.

the way Minhyuk KNEW that if they fail to liven up the atmosphere they'd probably get a bad review is a thing that none of the other contestants/trainees can do or consider and actually think about and that I believe is why he was selected as the final member. You can practically see in his eyes when he was coming up that he was thinking of ways to brighten up the mood. This specific skill is so HARD to find EVERYWHERE and so special.

it was actually kind of amazing watching this after knowing monsta x, and being disappointed in kihyun's and shownu's performance, and then being pleased by minhyuk. that was a performance im glad he realised he should be proud of.

i enjoyed Kwangji's and Yoonho's performance more than Jooheon and Gun, as much as i like Jooheon and Gun and think their so talented but i feel like the two other rappers are left out because both Jooheon and Gun rap strongly while Kwangji's and Yoonho's rapping is more calmer its also very nice and different

Addiction.Freak Yas! As I have said in another comment, I have a soft spot for low rappers than high rappers. This is because I feel the emotions they are trying to say in the rap more. Of course I know it would depend on what song they are rapping for, but still. I liked Kwangji and Yoonho's performance even if it was lowkey.

Yeah! They are more emotional, the instrumental music they chose was great; it really emphasised how they felt-and it was more enjoyable to listen and focus on the lyrics. Jooheon And Gun’s rap was very strong, but a bit crazy and hard to focus on, but that did cause a great deal of passion in the end. Both were very good, and their individual styles came through

i'm rewatching this again mainly because i miss gunhee so much, and again i cried at what Soyou said to him, he needed to hear something like that after all the bullshit he's been getting from that clown and other irrelevant people there, and i'm so glad she said it. Old school rap doesn't mean that he is a bad rapper. If it wasn't for old school rap Madclown nor #gun would have a career. RIght now in the kpoop scene old school rap isn't something that fits the new and modern image kpoop is trying to make. I highly doubt many kpoop fans will like that style of rap anyway so it will be hard for him to gain many fans.

Claire Lee I like #Gun But I kinda understand Madclown when he says that he's old school ( Although old school doesn't mean bad) but he didn't follow the beat (the 4 temps/ tempos.. I'm not sure about the correct word) in the 3rd episode and that's the base I think. He was lyricaly* good( not sure about the word ..I speak french ) but knowing that nowaday if you want to sell ( to a larger public mostly in the kpop world ) having an old school (his old school style ) is not the best. However, after his performance here, I think that the beat in the 3rd ep didn't suit him. With it he didn't have the best flow ( to make you groove, move your head. It's not smooth like the greatest example Biggy ). In the 3rd ep when he was rapping, something was missing for me and It's because les 4 temps/tempos weren't respected. Md was hard when he said that #Gun wasn't a good rapper but not that wrong in a way~
