Just from the size I would've said that trout was a steelhead. But after he pulled it out of the water and seeing it's colors and shape it was definitely a rainbow. Amazing catch bro and on a flie rod even. I've been fishing for trout since I was 7-8 and I'm 34 now and have never caught one that big

I feel like there arent any bad fly setups tbh. I had a couple cheep setups before and they were actually better than some of the more expensive spinning reel setups ive had. The quality of fly gear is like at a higher standard than other fishing gear I feel like. Everything made for fly fishing always seems like its a higher quality.

Love the fly fishing content, but that fish was nowhere near 8lb... Probably closer to 2-3lbs. If you were familiar with steelhead fishing you'd be more familiar with sizes. an 8lb fish is probably 28" minimum unless obese.
