my first time ever visiting your channel. I like it. I got to about 6 minutes - but I was disappointed at that point where that basic move was apparently something to replay and was embarrassing - like I said - love what you're doing - honest piece of advice from high level UK ball, be more aggressive, put 100 into all of your sessions... you never know when someone is watching a one-off vid. But most importantly - good luck and I hope you find the determination that it truly takes - Love

Just a small piece of advice mate, something i noticed is you need to calm down and have some patience in 1v1s , you are decent technically and unless you have miles of space ahead ,calm down lure in your opponent fool him with feints ( feints>>>>>>>>>>>any skill) This is something that i've learnt watching messi play. also watch pros 1v1 in training and compare it to yours, it will be clear. Hope it helps , cheers.

Yes bro love the video I noticed in these clips that the division 1 player took his touch closer to his body which made you come out to press him which left a lot of space behind you for him to attack. And most of the time your touch was quite big which made it easier for the defender because he could just stay back and defend the goal. This is probably why the division 1 player did so well from my point of view. No hate just giving my opinion 🙌
@seanandrews53292 жыл бұрын
Question: How does he win in the duel when the other guy takes smaller touches? You obviously have to come out more, but that leaves your back more vulnerable to attack. Should you just stay back? Why? Why not? Is it a skill issue ie speed and timing and you could just train more or is there something that can be immediately fixed if you knew to do it to be more likely to win defensively in a plain 1v1? Is it even important whether to give the opponent more time or not (in a plain 1v1 drill at least where the goal is for him just to put a ball in your net obviously in a more complicated situation like a game the answer is yes)?
@TheSleepbad2 жыл бұрын
If staying back would be the superior defensive strategy in this scenario, you could just stay back even if the touch is closer to his body. What you sad makes not to much sense for me, even though a smaller touch is a sign of a high quality player, but for other reasons
@hanksullins20932 жыл бұрын
@@seanandrews5329 If you are going against a person who has smaller touches it is important to still come out and step to them. Once you do that try to force them to one side, or wait for them to make the move(they will eventually have to make a move if they want to score). In my opinion it is better to force them to one side because you can take control and force them to the side you like. It also allows them much less space. They may also have even started dribbling to one side before you force them and that makes it easier. When they make their move and take the touch around you make sure to make contact with them to slow them down using your forearm without fully extending your arm. It’s kind of like you want to be right next to them as if you were following them. At this point the angle towards goal should be mostly cut off if not completely. Their only option would be to cut backwards and go the other way but if you take the correct angle they won’t be able to. Finally you want to try to win the ball which you will have to put in a well timed challenge to do. Make sure you time it when they have a longer touch and the ball is away from their body otherwise you get beat and they get enough time to get away from you. They may not always take a long touch which is okay. Don’t feel rushed to win the ball because they will eventually have to take a long touch at some point to try to get around you. All of this is easier said then done and it takes time to get used to. Even I myself haven’t completely figured it out but just keep practicing and you will get there. In my opinion you shouldn’t stay back because you are giving the attacker the space they want to dribble at you with speed and make a move. It is also not necessarily game realistic either because on a big 11 v 11 pitch you can’t just give them the time and space and keep dropping back you eventually have to step to attempt to win the ball. And when you say skill issue speed and timing can definitely help to defend against these kinds of players, but it is not the only thing that will help. Training these two things will definitely help, but the timing part is more of something you gain from just playing games. You don’t really develop it from training unless you’re doing actual 1 v 1 scenarios. Also, the main reason the D1 player was so good at winning the 1 v 1’s was not only because the other guy was taking longer touches but also because the D1 guy had really good timing and he knew exactly when to go in for the ball. Usually you want to try to go in when they take a long touch away from their body, or when they are in the middle of doing a move. For example if they are doing scissors you want to try to go in when their leg is going around the ball and they can’t push the ball away from you. Anyways, as for it being something that can be immediately fixed this is more likely the case. While the speed and timing help, having a knowledge of how to defend and what to do in certain situations is more important. So basically the techniques I was talking about at the beginning of how to defend are more important than the training for speed and timing(although the technique stuff won’t come overnight and you need to keep doing it). Lastly, about the question on whether it is important or not to give the opponent time. Like you said, in a game it is important whether to give the opponent more time or not. But, in a 1 v 1 it is still important. You want to not give them the time because you wouldn’t in a real game. I try to think of every drill I do like a piece of the real game because that’s what it’s going towards at the end of the day. You want to try to make it realistic to the real thing.

@@seanandrews5329 you want to set a trap for the striker to go into, force him using your body to make him go in a certain direction, and then stop him in his tracks
@korylp62192 жыл бұрын
You should always allow space on their weaker feet and send them that way. Also depends how fair you play… the ball out can be a stinker, slow, hard etc.. but you want to shut down their space to make it realistic not hang back. Also all of this can help you in game obviously in a 1:1 situation but this was light, barely any arms, or body use. On a real pitch, as a defender you don’t want to dive in but show them where you want (weak foot) and make sure your body allows that until you’re covered or your backline has recovered. I think he’s trying too hard and his brains moving faster than his feet. On a proper pitch he would do well but in this instance ran out of room.
