You should definitely use your brothers gear. The pole should still be good, I have a friend who's pole is 15 years old. My dad's are about 20. Might want to replace the line, but definitely should go and do some fishing ❤️

This past weekend, I just put together my second combo, and I've got a kiddie pole for my kiddo. Now, my 7yo daughter and I are out picking off panfish and dinky bass on weekends and loving every minute of it. Thank you for your reply.
