I have 2 questions about J Max grinder. 1. How long do burrs last? i.e. is there a recommendation to change to new burrs after a certain time? 2. The grinder starts at 0 setting and then one can adjust the dial. Does adjusting dial often to various grind settings reset the initial settings or once set to zero, it doesn't change?

@Gautam Sarin - 1. The burrs are expected to grind up to approximately 200kg of coffee beans. Do note that the burr set is not available to purchase for replacement at the moment. 2. Frequent adjustments on the dial will not affect the already calibrated true starting/zero point unless detailed maintenance with the removal of parts. Do consider subscribing to our channel. @Ivan Falquez - Hey there! As shown in the video (assembly guide), we have actually mentioned turning the adjustment dial to the true starting (zero) point before proceeding with the assembly. When in doubt, always good to consult the dealer or user manual. Cheers!

My jmax grinder fell over and now its burrs are stuck. I cannot get the shaft to push out either. Crank doesn't turn. Thoughts? I could really use some help. I have disassembled it otherwise and of course its a day over the amazon return window.

@Roger lund - Sorry to hear about that. Unfortunately, it's not possible to have your unit on hand for analysing and therefore unable to advise you on the necessary self-repair. The best is to refer back to the seller for advice. Cheers!

Hello! Excellent video! So I'm worried... I received my J Max grinder on this week. I mistaked! I know, I showd read the manual and see vídeos before make shit. The first thing I did was turn the adjustment ring counterclockwise until limit and removed the small bearing on the top. Consequentely after that, the ring adjustment jumped and come off completely, I saw that it has grease for lubrification and o can saw smalls metallic balls ... I went back with it to the place with a lot of fear, but apparently the grinder is working. Could anything have affected? Do you have any suggestion? Tks and sorry my bad english! ❤

@paulovitortq - Hi there, thanks for your compliment. As advised and warned by 1Zpresso Taiwan, we have not gone to that extent by removing the adjustment dial. As such, we can't advise you on that. Cheers!

When I initially set my grind size, the first turn of the grinder handle is tight and causes a kind of snapping noise, is this normal.

@ryanbanks5963 - As confirmation, set it to a true zero point. From here, adjust the grind setting to a full complete turn (true zero point to 0, for espresso). Attach the crank handle & turn. There should not be any screeching sound for this grind setting. If yes, please approach the dealer where you bought from for help. Cheers!

How many seconds did you finish 18 grams?

@World1jp - Largely depends on your settings and grinding speed, it took less than 60s to grind 18g for espresso.

I also have it and it's not too bad even for espresso I do about 50 seconds or a little bit more if you take a break
