This was a good review! Firstly, you produced it after having gained some experience with the grinder. Secondly, you presented it in a visually appealing style. Thirdly, you separated the content into different topics, different aspects about the grinder. Then you also spoke clearly and it was easy to understand you which is often a little hard with non-native English speakers (which I'm not either). And finally you drew comparisons to other grinders which is so welcome! Especially since I also have the JX Pro that you mentioned. Only thing that you could improve would be to flag the different chapters in the video with timestamps, so that it would be easier to get an overview over the content. Great work, thanks!

My experience was, when i want to release the catch cup, don't turning it directly, but try to hold the catch cup, then turning the body of the grinder with other hand. Hope it can reduce the fall incidence of the catch cup 😁
@lrbrugby Жыл бұрын
If you want a magnetic catch cup from 1Zpresso, might be best to go for one of the K-Series grinders. The K-Max might be the model I am thinking of. Also good for filter and has the same external adjustment system. I'm sure that the differences with this one are just a bit subtle. Nice work on the video. It's criminal that you don't have thousands of subscribers. Big love from Jakarta, Indonesia.

Super helpful thanks. Your style is paced well and just like the coffee from the ZP6, your are very clear! I'm just getting into filter coffee and bought a ZP6 and a Hario Switch. I'm grinding 20 grams at around 40 clicks on the dial, does that sound about right as a starting point?
@wideawakeph3662 Жыл бұрын
Hi there! Glad you enjoyed the video :) Yes, I'd say that's a good starting point! Personally 40 is my finest pour over setting for a 13g dose so you can grind even coarser next time unless you're focusing more on the immersion aspect of the Hario Switch

@matsbreienhaugen37706 ай бұрын
Thank you for s good video. Would you also say it its optimized for Aeropress? Im making filter style (light roast) coffe on my Aeropress most of the time. Not the «espresso» style.
@wideawakeph36626 ай бұрын
yes it works well for the aeropress too (not espresso-style)
@aarone99703 ай бұрын
does ZP6 do good for medium roasts? how does it do with coffees with sweeter notes?
@wideawakeph36623 ай бұрын
Still OK! I'd say you'd have to adjust your brewing technique if using med roasts ie lower temp + coarser grind to match the acidity forward and high flavor separation presentation of the zp6
@musicianoffailure-3804 Жыл бұрын
Can it do espresso? I know they specifically said it's a filter focused grinder, but CAN it do espresso? I prefer doing mostly pour over but would like to do espresso occasionally so wondering if this grinder is capable of it.
@wideawakeph3662 Жыл бұрын
It technically can but there isn't enough range and adjustability to make espresso well with coffees of varying roast profiles
@RavenSWE Жыл бұрын
If you want the possibility of espresso as well get a K series
@JasonColumbia Жыл бұрын
the main point is, espresso require a certain amount of fine grinds but this grinder is doing almost the least amount of fine grinds in the market so i don't think it can suit the duty. For occasional espresso grind, it's better to go for an x-pro or k-series(if your budget allows).
@juan_w_fer Жыл бұрын
Nice video! I would like to ask you a question: How would you try to brew sweeter cups with this grinder? I'm considering the ZP6 Special for the transparency and complexity but I still love to find a sweet taste in my coffee, and I'm afraid of losing that
@wideawakeph3662 Жыл бұрын
you can try modifying your pouring. For example, instead of doing a 2 pour, do a 3 pour structure!
@juan_w_fer Жыл бұрын
@@wideawakeph3662 Thank you! I'm definitely gonna order it
@HenryPiffpaff3 ай бұрын
Did you buy it in the end? If so, how do you like it and how sweet is it?
@juan_w_fer3 ай бұрын
@@HenryPiffpaff I did! My brews are pretty acidic, it's rare that I'd find a cup bitter. Not sure about sweetness unfortunately because my other grinder was a $20 one instead of a timemore. I haven't really tinkered with the pour structure, instead what I would sometimes do following some forum advice is start at a very fine setting, like 2, grind a few beans and then switch to a coarser setting like 3,6. That will get you more body in your cup, which is another thing this grinder might lack :)

Which do you prefer for pour overs, the ZP6 or Kinu M47?

ZP6 by far!

@@wideawakeph3662 I was thinking of getting the Kinu M47 with pourover burrs. The ZP6 is clear but does it have the mouthfeel that Kinu provides? It would be great to see a comparison. Btw the Kinu m47 with pourover burrs takes awhile to grind (3 min for 20g for me).

Love that the first complaint is the huge logo on the sleeve, I always wonder why no one ever mentions this in their reviews. This logo and strange looking brown part is keeping me back from buying a 1zpresso grinder. My timemore c3 looks so elegant on the table so look wise this would be an immense downgrade

Do you think it is better than K-ultra for pourover?
@wideawakeph3662 Жыл бұрын
I haven't tried the K-ultra so I can't say with certainty. But what I can say is that the burrs in the ZP6 are optimized for pourover whereas the K-ultra burrs are not as 1zpresso claims that it can do grind for both espresso and pourover.

I own the Comandante C40, the 1Zpresso K-Plus and the Kinu M47. The first too are very close very similar taste wise with the K-Plus maybe a but more and the fruity/acidic side and the Comandante a tiny bit more complex, but often I wouldn't be sure blind tasting between the two. I recognize the Kinu every single time though, because it is that much worse tasting than the other two. It's been four years I have tested it enough to know. If the ZP6 in this video is better than the K-Plus it will crush the Kinu all day.
