In this simulation, we have obviously a linear development. For every incoming zombie, there is one soldier which stops them with a bullet. So, for the same fire rate and zombies incoming, the death rate remains the same until the zombies can overall run and get faster forward than being killed right in the place in which the last one was killed. Then and only then, one would have a progress and the zombies had at least a higher chance. This also means they have to get faster and faster to reach the convergent limit which is tending towards the first soldiers in the outer lines up to the middle with the last ones. With other words, in this case, even making the zombies faster and faster, as long as their velocity remains under that of the velocity of the bullets and the incoming fire rate of the soldiers added up, they won't be able to create any damage.

i Play Soldiers may know their target, but they aren't invulnerable to friendly fire. Do you understand basic military tactics? Flanking and maneuver, establishing a base of fire, ensuring no friendlies are in your field of fire and the like. Not to mention ammo resupply and overheating weapons (alternating fire) to account for.

Very interesting. Three observations: 1- Do the program simulates with reloading their guns? 2- The inner soldiers seem to be firing as well without harming any of their teammates. 3- The closer the zombies, the more careful the defense. The last battle, the soldiers are less bold to move forward to kill the zombies, the kept tight as a unit up to the end. Nice simulations.

I know it's just a game but 2,000 soldiers would be spread out at 5 meter intervals and that many soldiers would make up roughly 3-4 battalions, forming a brigade or regiment, and would also have heavy weapons (mortars, artillery, heavy machine guns and possibly air support). Any enemy bunched up would get chewed up by explosive shells.

If they had the ammo, a decent fortification, and took turns rotating firing lines, then this would be entirely doable for modern infantry. Granted, you would never see grunts fighting like this in the open unless they had tanks and 50 cals in the front to mow down enemy ranks. I could almost guarantee the front lines would be entrenched and prone in this scenario. Plus, if that many hostiles were grouped up like that, an A-10 would probably just fly by and shred their ranks. Sorry, I was infantry and I just had to say that.

If the Battle of Yonkers has taught me anything about fighting mass hordes of zombies, it's to make sure you have enough ammunition. Where are the fire teams, the reload depot and the escape plan? In a real scenario like this, best strategy is to mark the company toward one of the wall of zombies and stop for nothing, mowing down a path out of that box, then kill the stragglers as they reach you. You don't want to be surrounded with limited ammunition.

17:00 this is kinda pointless to watch beyond the first 10 seconds. Because its about simple maths. The outward pressure from the dps, is higher than the inward pressure of enemy units. _(kinda like how a stars fusion pressure balances against the inward gravity pressure)_ There's a limited number of enemies that can be approaching at once _(the circle around the soldiers, only a limited number of zombies can stand all around them and be shot at)._ But there is a higher number of soldiers in the middle that can exert dps pressure on those units. The outward pressure is always higher in a ranged vs melee surround situation like this, if ranged dps per unit is high enough. In other words, more units can shoot out, than the number of units that can fit around the soldiers. So the attackers will never ever win, if there are more central units than units that can fit surrounding them. Kinda amazed you have spammed out so many videos like this and never realized this. Then again, i guess you just want the ad clicks, and not an interesting battle. Fair enough.
