This battle simulator is stupid. None of the units ever use tactics, fore example, the stormtroopers should have spread out and fired while constantly retreating. In all these videos it's just a block of idiots beating the other idiots, never retreating, using terrain, forming squares or other maneuvers that would drastically alter the battle.

And just so you know, as the scale of the battle increases, it favors ranged units over melee units. So long as the ranged units can fire through or over their allies, then the amount of damage a block of ranged units can do at a given moment is proportional to its area. But melee units can only do damage against those that they are in contact with, so the maximum damage potential of a blob of melee units is proportional to its surface area.

It means for instance that it is possible that 10 000 storm troopers vs 100 000 zombies would win, whereas 1000 storm troopers vs 10 000 zombies would lose.

The lesson here? If you have an army with projectile (energy) weapons, don't arrange them so that the vast majority of them are behind their comrades and therefor ineffective until the rows of soldiers in front of them are already dead. In those first two you can see those guys in the back just aiming and waiting for a clear shot at the enemy, which they weren't gonna get until the horde was right there. Should've tried putting them out in one straight line (or as close to that as the game will allow). That way everybody on that side has a clean shot at the enemy from the start.
