This was a really good series... that 2.0 should make that little Samurai scoot down the road pretty good. Really good swap series

Start looking for a 2.0/2.3L donor and get with John Browne to build Your harness, you won’t regret the swap

Sweet swap .. yeah switching to the stock transfer case will improve at higher speeds. Looks so preppy... Make us contemplate our 16v swaps. Lol

I totally want to so the swap now 🤣🤦🏻♂️

Just put 36" tires on it and leave the gearing alone.. 🙂 I got toyota axles,6.5 transfer case, and 5.29 gears. with a1.6 8v. i finally got to the shop after my stroke. i can hold a wrench but no power to move the wrench. things are more "normal" each day.. i'll keep at it..
@CTMadModzАй бұрын
Yeah she would need a lot more lift to fit some 36’s 🤣 and I’m glad you’re feelin better old buddy. I put my hair up in your honor today 🤣

Very Cool! Probably a Silly question here, but I have an 87 Samurai with newish rebuilt 1.3 8v I live in a hilly town (Globe, Az) with lots of trails so I just want to use local. My gas usage sucks driving around town, would I get better performance and milage going with a 1.6 16v or would I just get better performance with worse gas use? Same question for when on the long low and slow trails?
@MrCoolJaybo1Ай бұрын
I have 235/75's and on a long flat road i can do maybe 60 with a tail wind lol
@CTMadModzАй бұрын
@@MrCoolJaybo1 well it would stand to reason that if you had more horsepower you would t be into the throttle as much and would use less fuel, but I can tell you from daily driving mine for going on 3 years that with my lift, tires, and gears I get horrible fuel mileage no matter how I drive lol 🤷🏻♂️🤣
@MrCoolJaybo1Ай бұрын
@@CTMadModz Makes sense. lol Sorry one last q, Do you think one of those Harley carb set up like from ZOR would be an improvement with my engine?

after driving this, How much faster do you think a samurai with stock suspension/gears/tire size would feel with the 2.0 swap? I plan to swap one and build a custom oil pan/pickup to clear the front axle. This would be for the street mostly.
@CTMadModzАй бұрын
In a mostly stock rig it would be rowdy

I keep hearing that the 1616 valve engines aren’t that great because I only got like a couple water in the top of them or something and I’ll just it’ll fry the motor for no reason do you know anything about that? I just rebuilt a brand new 1616 valve have enough 98 sidekick. I love the vehicle, but just a little worried to take it out very far.
