2:1 Aspect Ratio Cheat Sheet

As I have been watching a lot of movies lately in my free time. Maybe now I can say for sure: 👉 2:1 is the ratio that best balances width and height, characters and environment, the most versatile. If I were a professional filmmaker, I think I would use 2:1 a lot in my movies. I absolutely love 2:1!! It's really a bridge between wide and tall ratios, the best of both worlds. Each ratio has its strengths and reason for existing, but Univisium really rocks!! Undu Media, sorry for reposting here, but I preferred to do so after trying several ratios recently. Thank you my friend, I always like to say that what made me start to love 2:1 were four movies: - Jurassic World (2015), Hereditary, Midsommar and Green Book (all of these took my breath away when I watched them and it still do). All four make great use of this ratio and perhaps helped to popularize it (as do numerous Netflix series, which also use 2:1, such as House of Cards, Stranger Things, The Witcher, etc).

The world would be a better place with 2:1 as the default aspect ratio. It's so simple, width is double the height. I want 2:1 TV's

The way i found to fix this was to leave my videos in 2:1, now, all devices will have borders lol, but they are very subtle!

True 2:1 (18:9) resolutions are 1440x720 (HD), 2160x1080 (FHD), 2880x1440 (QHD), 4320x2160 (4K UHD), 8640x4320 (8K). I believe that 2:1 aspect ratio is the future. feels good on the eyes and numbers add up perfectly. If watching Ultrawide movies on 2:1 display letterboxing is minimal., unlike 16:9 displays with massive black bars. Majority of smartphones are 2:1 anyway and more KZbinrs like Marques Brownlee, Linus Tech Tips are adapting to it.

3k is true 3k. Same with 4k UHD (ultra high definition) and 4k DCI. 4K DCI is true 4k. If I’m not mistaken!
